PCE.js - Classic Mac OS in the Browser

It's a port of Hampa Hug's excellent PCE emulator, put together by James Friend. This is a demo of PCE's classic Macintosh emulation, running System 7.0.1 with MacPaint, MacDraw, and Kid Pix. If you want to try out more apps and games see this demo. Please be patient as you may see up to 30s of black screen upon booting, but it's worth it. Configs/pc/machines/5160/cga/256kb/win101. Spectacular Boulder Opal Looks Like a Gem Inside a Tree. There is an endless bounty of eye-catching gemstones throughout the world and this spectacular boulder opal is one unique beauty that looks like a shimmering crystal encased in a tree fossil.

Spectacular Boulder Opal Looks Like a Gem Inside a Tree

Its opalescent sheen seeps through the cracks of the seemingly wooden rings in lustrous hues of emerald green and aqua blue. Like something out of a fairy tale, the triangular piece radiates through an organic pattern mimicking the growth rings of tree. Though there is some confusion as to whether the piece is an opalized piece of petrified wood or a concretion of ironstone, it is clear that the the magnificent gemstone with its eye-catching concentric circles originated in Australia. The beautiful stone, which was at one point going for an asking price of $2,350, was sold earlier this year (in June 2013) through Planet Opal's Etsy shop. Before the owner and gem cutter sold his piece, he took a video of the opal in light, which can be viewed, below.

If this doesn't terrify you... Google's computers OUTSMART their humans

This means the internet giant may need fewer experts in future as it can instead rely on its semi-autonomous, semi-smart machines to solve problems all on their own. The claims were made at the Machine Learning Conference in San Francisco on Friday by Google software engineer Quoc V. Le in a talk in which he outlined some of the ways the content-slurper is putting "deep learning" systems to work. (You find out more about machine learning, a computer science research topic, here [PDF].) "Deep learning" involves large clusters of computers ingesting and automatically classifying data, such as things in pictures.

What stunned Quoc V. Deep learning. Branch of machine learning Deep learning (also known as deep structured learning or differential programming) is part of a broader family of machine learning methods based on artificial neural networks with representation learning.

Deep learning

Learning can be supervised, semi-supervised or unsupervised.[1][2][3] Deep learning architectures such as deep neural networks, deep belief networks, recurrent neural networks and convolutional neural networks have been applied to fields including computer vision, speech recognition, natural language processing, audio recognition, social network filtering, machine translation, bioinformatics, drug design, medical image analysis, material inspection and board game programs, where they have produced results comparable to and in some cases surpassing human expert performance.[4][5][6]

It's about 5 millimeters long. Many planthoppers secrete a waxy substance which forms into long strands. These strands, which can break off, may distract a predator while the insect escapes to safety.
