SiteShoter Takes Web Site Screenshots Over Time - Featured Windows Download - Lifehacker
Windows only: Portable freeware application SiteShoter takes screenshots of web sites with a powerful array of features. Using the utility, which (like all of the excelllent NirSoft applications) requires no installation, is easy—just add the URL to the web site you want to capture, choose a filename to save the image to, and click Start to save the screenshot. What makes this utility great is the wide range of powerful options, including a full-featured command line—you can place special formatting codes in the filename to specify a timestamp or add the URL to the filename, which becomes very useful if you wanted to save screenshots for multiple sites at once.AVG offers standalone realtime web page scanning for Firefox and IE
AVG's LinkScanner browser protection isn't a new offering - it's been part of their antivirus protection suite since the release of version 8. Today, however, they have decided to release LinkScanner as a stand-alone plugin so that you can add its protection to your browser even if you don't run AVG as your Windows antivirus app. The concept is similar to Web of Trust (which was one of my Firefox addon picks last year ) in that it's designed to provide trust alerts and block access to potentially harmful sites. The toolbar includes both a search protection feature and "active surf" protection. Links within pages are scanned and given a green check if determined to be safe, yellow exclamations if caution is needed, or a red x if unsafe.I am a reckless web surfer and I admit it. But seeming most of my browsing is done via a virtual machine or my mobile device I am protected. But what about the millions of other users that are using their Firefox to browse sites blindly. We use our favorite web browser to search for whatever we are looking for and then click the links to see what we find. Now we don’t have to blindly click those links anymore.

Those were the days... Date: 2008-ish If you've found this site looking for recent information about dynamic front-end scripting, CSS tutorials, and general guides for web development, well -- it may be of some use. The first thing you should know is that it hasn't been updated for over a year, so any information you find here should be compatibility-checked with newer browsers. The upside is that the guides/tutorials take into account some browsers that are used by very few people today, which actually means that the code is backwward compatible even more extensively than you'd usually expect to find. If you didn't find what you were looking for, and you're searching for something specific in client-side development, I suggest checking out these sources:
