Code Standards | Isobar. Overview This document contains guidelines for web applications built by the Creative Technology (front end engineering) practice of Isobar. It is to be readily available to anyone who wishes to check the iterative progress of our best practices. This document's primary motivation is two- fold: 1) code consistency and 2) best practices. By maintaining consistency in coding styles and conventions, we can ease the burden of legacy code maintenance, and mitigate risk of breakage in the future. By adhering to best practices, we ensure optimized page loading, performance and maintainable code. Pillars of Front-end Development◊ General Practices◊ Indentation◊ For all code languages, we require indentation to be done via soft tabs (using the space character). Readability vs Compression◊ We prefer readability over file-size savings when it comes to maintaining existing files. The first component of any web page is the tag-based markup language of HTML.

AVG's LinkScanner browser protection isn't a new offering - it's been part of their antivirus protection suite since the release of version 8. Today, however, they have decided to release LinkScanner as a stand-alone plugin so that you can add its protection to your browser even if you don't run AVG as your Windows antivirus app. The concept is similar to Web of Trust (which was one of my Firefox addon picks last year) in that it's designed to provide trust alerts and block access to potentially harmful sites.
The toolbar includes both a search protection feature and "active surf" protection. Links within pages are scanned and given a green check if determined to be safe, yellow exclamations if caution is needed, or a red x if unsafe. With active surf enabled, site will be blocked even if accessed directly from the address bar - LinkScanner will instead present a large, red warning that you're treading on dangerous ground. I am a reckless web surfer and I admit it. But seeming most of my browsing is done via a virtual machine or my mobile device I am protected. But what about the millions of other users that are using their Firefox to browse sites blindly. We use our favorite web browser to search for whatever we are looking for and then click the links to see what we find. Now we don’t have to blindly click those links anymore. Using AVG’s Linkscanner browser plug-in. I installed it and tested it on Internet Explorer which worked flawlessly and on Firefox where it would not work with Google. (Note: If you’re using AVG 2008 Antivirus software then you already have this installed, you just need to enabled it from AVG settings panel.)
I started by downloading the 14.4 mb installer from here I ran through the normal setup steps. I choose the standard installation.
