You should also be able to find beds on craigslist for $150 or less if you feel adventurous . .but then you’ll need to spend money for a couch separately. 2) Dining Table, chairs – $100 Try finding larger items either at Goodwill or the Salvation Army.

Ultimate floating house with an incredible view - San Diego interior decorating. This unique home was designed by architect Robert Oshatz, who had it constructed off site and brought in by a barge to dock at its mooring site. The neighboring houses along the Willamette River of Portland, Oregon are in close proximity to the home, so the style of the house was contrived to allow for privacy. The home was designed as an open floor plan with a second story loft, allowing the homeowners a minimalistic style and the ability to move freely throughput the space.
The curvilinear ceiling is constructed of douglas fir and the roof is finished with copper tiles. To keep the home afloat, the foundation of the home was made up of 34 by 80-foot locally sourced douglas fir logs, with rigid foam cubes placed under the logs to keep the home level. The large expanse of sliding glass windows, with curved glass above, allow unobtrusive views of the river. Brazilian cherry wood floors and stairs radiate warmth throughout the interior spaces. In the form of two large symmetrical cubes embracing an open space, the aim was to have the interiors in total synergy with the exteriors. It’s been a busy week with a trip to Seattle for the Picasso exhibition and a drive out to the coast but I knew I had to share this amazing remodel with you before the week came to a close. The after! A cozy, light filled sleeping loft is so perfect for the space. The kitchen is well organized and accessible with open storage solutions. The rustic wood burning stove becomes sculptural in this room along with Michelle’s own art installations. The glass boxes housing pillow forms are actually a tribute to Michelle’s father. You know I am a big fan of great bathroom design and this one delivers.

This rustic retreat was built right in the heart of Three Rivers, California near the entrance to Sequoia National Park where the enchantment of wildlife sightings runs wild.
What also happens to run wild is the river that flows under this home, something that has never been done before or ever since! Kaweah Falls was originally designed in the 1940′s by one of Frank Wright’s very own students, but when the second homeowners moved in and remodeled they decided to add an addition to the home that floats over the river bank. Aside from a few cool interior features like a dining room with a glass floor view of the river, there is a footbridge over these waters that lead to a private deck where one can sit and listen to the sounds of fresh water skimming river rocks on the way down from a waterfall found right up the mountain.
Choosing a vacation spot for these homeowners is definitely a tall order…but who would want to leave this place? The funky hotel Huettenpalast in Berlin delivers on all three of those, which makes it a must visit in my book. You can stay in their hotel rooms or book one of the three indoor caravans and huts featured here for a more unconventional sleep experience. Equal parts campgound, art installation, and childhood fort, this cluster of “rooms” seems too cool to pass up—luckily they cost only 60 euros ($85) a night. The hotel also has a garden, a cafe and bar that host frequent events, and other fun things to explore. Couldn’t we all use a bit of urban camping this summer and fall? Located in Atlanta, this building is about 100 years old and originally served as a trolley depot. Thankfully, Amy and her husband did a wonderful job preserving many of the original details while adding some modern touches that complement the overall aesthetic beautifully.
