The Selby + Simple Creative Home Posted by rd on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 · I recently discovered The Selby, and here is a home, more or less 1000 sq ft., bursting with neutral colors making it ‘bigger’ than it actually is. I really love the combination of open planning and simple palette in this home..

Beautiful Warehouse Conversion in Melbourne By Eric • Feb 14, 2011 • Selected Work Spotted on MBP, here is a completely renovated apartment located in a historic building in Melbourne, Australia. This three bedroom, two bathroom residence is on sale and according to the agent, “this superlative warehouse conversion in “Leicester House”, an historic 1880′s building, provides privacy and vast spaces. It features soaring warehouse ceilings, huge original arched timber windows, exposed red brick walls, imposing brick archways of 65 cm depth and high gloss timber floors. Coat Hooks Back in Los Angeles, any old coat rack or a few hooks by the door would do. Most of us would just toss a jacket in the back of the car in the winter months. But here in Vermont we need a little more.

DIY: Furniture Makeovers I'm obsessed with making-over old, worn out furniture. It's amazing how almost any old piece can be totally transformed with new paint, hardware and a little imagination! Here are three examples from Ladies Home Journal...click here to read the entire article. Out-dated side table with stone top transformed into a bright and cheerful accent piece! Written by Thomas Baekdal | Tuesday, December 16, 2008 Space Saving Tiny Apartment, New York This tiny but highly sophisticated studio apartment in the East Village of NYC has made us very proud, thanks to JPDA. Not only was it built as a super efficient multi-functional unit but with the use of detailed mill work, the storage capacity was very cleverly executed and resulted in a super stylish studio with a decent amount of floor space. Shouldn’t all NYC dwellers aim to live like this? You decide… A schematic rendering demonstrates a realistic plan for this tiny apartment.

A former Cement Factory is now the workspace and residence of Ricardo Bofill Image Courtesy of Ricardo Bofill Architect: Ricardo BofillProgram: Architectural offices /archives /model laboratory /exhibition space /Bofill's-apartment /guest rooms /gardensLocation: Barcelona, SpainTotal floor area: 3,100 square meters and gardensHouse area: 500 square metersDate Completed: 1975 There is nothing as good as an aged bottle of wine; and in this case the aged bottle of wine is a project which was completed in 1975, but is still worth mentioning! First and foremost we would like to thank our friend and founder of Room Service design store in Greece, Katerina Xynogala for providing us with the necessary information regarding The Cement Factory, which is featured in the latest Room Service catalogue. The Cement Factory was discovered in 1973, it was an abandoned cement factory and partially in ruins, comprised of over 30 silos, underground galleries and huge engine rooms; Ricardo Bofill bought it and began renovation works.

Box Bed We often show ingenious ways of hiding the bed . French architects Emmanuel Combarel Dominique Marrec offer a new one: turn it into a sculptural element, in this case a box hanging from the ceiling. Watch Video: World's Greenest Homes From the other side, it is a short step up from the existing mezzanine. Nice idea if you have the ceiling height. Decorating A Small Apartment : Not So Difficult After All This beautiful small apartment in the images below only has one room and an area of no more than 17 sq meters. What the interior designers did with this place is absolutely fabulous. This small studio is not only very practical, but also looks modern, inviting and original. The white walls and large window give the much needed feeling of space. Because the ceiling is located very high, a bedroom was improvised. There is plenty of available storage space and if you check out the pictures patiently, you will notice many ingenious lockers.

Temptation Every so often an email lands in my inbox from perhaps the cruelest man I know. Chris from Welcome Beyond dangles dream designs in front of me and it is all I can do to stop myself from hocking everything I own, jumping a plane and escaping to the hand picked boutique vacation properties that litter the pages of their website. Chris has cruelly tempted me again with a Spanish beauty and oh the temptation! Alemanys 5 ... "located in the core part of Girona's medieval quarter, within the scope of the first wall and overlooking the Plaça de Sant Domènec, is the property Alemanys 5, whose original building dates from the Sixteenth Century. Its recent restoration integrates old and new, where sober and clean lines look for the enjoyment of essential elements such as space, light, shadow, fire, stone, water or silence."

Most amazing apartment ever! - MAIYA - MY ADVENTURE IS YOUR ADVANTAGE Ah, jeez. This apartment in Sweden has my name written all over it! I love the black and white theme accented with bits of green and yellow. I could definitely be happy in such a bright, clean place! One of my favorite details is the Random Light (by Moooi) in the living room. But what really sets this space apart is the incredible kitchen!
