Love brownies. Love their shiny, flaky top that shatters into micro-thin shards that shower onto your fingers as you eat. Love their dark, gooey center. Their “chocolate nirvana” flavor. Sometimes can’t deal with the bake, wait to cool, cutting into squares messiness and fuss of brownies. Want something I can enjoy within 5 minutes of its exit from the oven.

Mmm. The Best Chocolate Desserts ! I honestly believe that chocolate is the closest we can get to heaven as mortals. Seriously.
A few days ago, I put a call out on Twitter for help. Marscapone help, to be specific. Many people came to the rescue, however it was @Ivoryhut her responded with a recipe idea that went beyond delectable. Tiramisu Pancakes.
This is such a TERRIBLE idea. Saw this and tried it. The chocolate needed to be melted, and the heat of it popped the balloons, made SUCH A MESS. A few stubborn attempts later, we had 2 chocolate balloons that hadn't popped. After cooling, we attempted to pop the balloons out of the chocolate cups and they stuck to the inside leaving balloon bits stuck to the chocolate. We ended up throwing it all away.
Salty and sweet. Crunchy and melt-in-your-mouth. Peanut butter and chocolate.
The USDA released its new food pyramid the other day (which is actually a plate now instead of a pyramid), and I am sorely disappointed to report that cinnamon rolls did not appear anywhere on that plate. I think by now most of us know what should be on our dinner plate in terms of healthy, well-rounded nutrient-laden meals, but it is my considered opinion that our breakfast plate should include cinnamon rolls now and then. And not just any cinnamon roll, mind you, but how ‘bout a homemade cinnamon roll hybrid that is a cross between a cinnamon roll and cinnamon toast, is super easy to make and gosh darn delicious.
I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to share a recipe with you. Or to lick a bowl. The secret ingredient here? You may think I’m crazy… but it’s a spoonful of actual cake mix. All you must do is whisk it well into the melted white chocolate.
