Faux Sequin Starfish Tank

http://www.rufflesandstuff.com/2012/05/faux-sequin-starfish-tank.html Hello, friends! I made this little tank for Paige yesterday. Isn't it fun? I love starfish. My family and I used to hunt for them at the beach when I was a little girl.
Start by folding your shorts in half and putting them on your pattern paper. Trace around the shorts with your marker. Your lines don’t have to be perfectly straight, because you are going to add your hem allowance. Next, take your ruler and measure your desired hem allowance from the line. I made mine ½ an inch, but for the waist and legs of the shorts, I would suggest doing 1 inch to make it easy to hem.

CRAFT: Bleach Art Tees (with Tulip Fabric Dye!)

http://mayamurillo.blogspot.com/2012/05/craft-bleach-art-tees-with-tulip-fabric.html I just came back from an eight-day cruise where we crafted, ate, and had as much fun as possible. I came home, unpacked and was excited to get crafty with some new t-shirts I bought for $8 each. The technical term for this technique is called "discharge dyeing", it's where you use bleach to remove color from fabric, but I like to think of it as "bleach art." I'm going to show you four ways that I used bleach to design some cool summer tees! Ready? OK, supplies:

Make a Baby Doll Shirt

So way way back, in June, I wrote this Studio Organization post, about starting the process of organizing my studio by cleaning out the closet full of junk. Well, it's September and...let's just say the closet is a work in progress. Some of the things that are taking up space in the closet are shirts that I never wear anymore. I realized I could repurpose them into something else! Here are some tutorials for recycling shirts:

Coolest Embellished T-Shirts and Tops - Photo Gallery (3 of 5)

My favorite fashion trend of the moment are embellished t-shirts and tops. Why do I love them so much? They're the perfect thing to wear for a night out. You can still look amazingly dressy even with jeans! (My dresses are completely out for the season, it was -2 degrees today!) With all these parties and events to attend, how else can I look fab without freezing to death?
