When we talk about Information Visualization we use to say that is the discipline that help us to visualize data that, when done properly, reveals uncovered patterns and outliers. A very special case of InfoVis examples are geolocated data visualizations which represent data that has latitude and longitude values that can be located in a map. It is special because it usually uncovers patterns that we already know: the shape of the world and its borders .
