I purposefully did not watch CNN’s Tea Party/Republican debate on Tuesday night because I knew I’d spend the whole time screaming at the TV. It was the right choice. (Like moi, you can read the transcript here .) Texas Governor Rick Perry wasted no time saying he made a “mistake” by requiring adolescent girls in Texas to be vaccinated against strains of HPV that cause cervical cancer. And then Rep.
Speaking to reporters at a sparsely attended press conference Thursday, Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann delivered a response to President Barack Obama's jobs speech. "Even if the President's plan passes, we already know it will fail," she said, offering her own nine-point plan . During questions, Bachmann told reporters that her response to the president was not "campaign related." "This is the president who called 535 members of Congress to hear what I believe was nothing more than political speech," she remarked.
Recently Bachmann was rated at the bottom comparing accuracy of facts stated by PolitiFacts. com.(http://www.politifact.com/personalities/michele-bachmann/) - I've just added this pearl - guess whose keeping track :) by Jul 16

Rep. Michele Bachmann kicked off her presidential campaign on Monday in Waterloo, Iowa, and in one interview surrounding the official event she promised to mimic the spirit of Waterloo’s own John Wayne. The only problem, as one eagle-eyed reader notes: Waterloo’s John Wayne was not the beloved movie star, but rather John Wayne Gacy, the serial killer. Mrs. Bachmann grew up in Waterloo, and used the town as the backdrop for her campaign announcement, where she told Fox News: “Well what I want them to know is just like, John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa. That’s the kind of spirit that I have, too.” ( Someone has already posted the clip to YouTube under the name BachmannLovesGacy )
CBS' Bob Schieffer calls out Bachmann for her lies on 'Face The Nation'. She responds by prevaricating.Bob Schieffer interviewed Rep. Michele Bachmann on Face The Nation yesterday and actually tried to pin her down on her many and numerous outright lies, as PolitiFact recently examined in some detail. And as usual, she did her usual blob-of-mercury routine: SCHIEFFER: I want to ask you about something else.
High schooler challenges Bachmann to debate on U.S. Constitution | Minnesota Independent: News. Politics. Media.A high school sophomore from New Jersey is challenging Rep. Michele Bachmann to a debate on civics and the U.S. Constitution. In an open letter to Bachmann, Amy Myers of Cherry Hill, N.J., said, “I have found quite a few of your statements regarding The Constitution of the United States, the quality of public school education and general U.S. civics matters to be factually incorrect, inaccurately applied or grossly distorted.”
WASHINGTON - A former chief of staff to Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) wrote Tuesday that his former boss is "decidedly" not ready to be president. "She is a faithful conservative with great oratory skills, but without any leadership experience or real results from her years in office," wrote Ron Carey in an op-ed published in the Des Moines Register , Iowa's leading newspaper. "She is not prepared to assume the White House in 2013," he concluded. Bachmann officially launched her run for the presidency in Iowa Monday.
