ASCII Art Generator - Make your picture into text
This little program converts your picture to ASCII text art - a jumble of letters, numbers and symbols that do not appear to have any significance until you step back and look at the whole picture. It has no practical purpose, other than the neat factor. ASCII Art has a long history among geeks. One of the first things I printed on my Commodore 128 in the mid 80's was an ASCII rendition of Spock. I remember waiting for what seemed like hours as my 8-pin printer slowly inked it out. But it was worth the wait when I stepped back and the full effect hit me. If you'd like to find out more, there are several sites and news groups dedicated to this "art form".

All of Liquid Television is Now Available Online! For its brief three year run, avant garde animation showcase Liquid Television was an absolute cultural institution. Commissioned by MTV but airing here on SBS on Saturday nights, it was a concentrated dose of weirdness, combining short skits and the odd – very odd – ongoing series to present a kind of cutting edge cultural melange. A whole generation soaked a little Liquid TV along with the intoxicants of their choice before heading out for the evening – it was, to paraphrase Mojo Nixon, a glorious time on the planet Earth.

Christopher Johnson's ASCII Art Collection was revealed to the Internet in November of 1994, back when Netscape 1.0 was "soooo much better than Mosaic" and Internet Explorer didn't exist yet. Here we are 22 years later, and if my web-server traffic statistics are any indication, ASCII art is more popular now than it's ever been. Shameless begging starts now: Running this site for the last 22 years hasn't been cheap. I would like offer my most sincere thanks to those of you who have supported this site.

Kusudama Tutorial part 1 The Japanese kusudama is a paper ball made out of multiple identical origami shapes glued together. They were traditionally used as a ball for incense or potpourri but now we see them more for decoration or as a gift. Today I am showing you part 1 on how to make the Japanese traditional shape. There are many different patterns to make a kusudama ball but I find this the easiest pattern to get started. This is also the pattern I used to make the pink flowers on the tree in the banner. Medieval Fantasy City Generator by watabou This application generates a random medieval city layout of a requested size. The generation method is rather arbitrary, the goal is to produce a nice looking map, not an accurate model of a city. All the actions and options are accessible via the context menu. The first version of this generator was created for the monthly challenge #17 of the proceduralgeneration subreddit.

Insights into Sexism: Male Status and Performance Moderates Female-Directed Hostile and Amicable Behaviour Abstract Gender inequality and sexist behaviour is prevalent in almost all workplaces and rampant in online environments. Although there is much research dedicated to understanding sexist behaviour, we have almost no insight into what triggers this behaviour and the individuals that initiate it. Although social constructionist theory argues that sexism is a response towards women entering a male dominated arena, this perspective doesn’t explain why only a subset of males behave in this way. We argue that a clearer understanding of sexist behaviour can be gained through an evolutionary perspective that considers evolved differences in intra-sexual competition.

How to get reviews for your work When you release your work — your book, your art, your business — the biggest thing you fear is not failure, but silence. That no one cared. Deep down, you are certain that your work matters, that it can change people’s lives. But part of you resists being the one shouting from the rooftops about your work — you would prefer that other people doing that for you. When others talk about how great your stuff is, it creates social proof, which is a key aspect of encouraging more sales.
