Six Good Places to Find Free Music and Sound Effects In my post earlier today about tools for creating book trailer videos I mentioned a couple of sources of free sound effects and music. Here are some places that you and your students can find free sound effects and music to download and use in video projects. Royalty Free Music hosts music tracks that can be reused in numerous ways.
Timeline Timeline allows students to create a graphical representation of an event or process by displaying items sequentially along a line. Timelines can be organized by time of day, date, or event, and the tool allows users to create a label with short or long descriptive text. Adding an image for each label makes a timeline more visually appealing. Add, drag, and rearrange items as needed. Some of the online slideshow sites listed in The Best Ways To Create Online Slideshows already have music that can easily be incorporated into user-created slideshows, but with Flowgram you have to upload your own. There are quite a few sites with royalty-free music available, and a great resource to identify a bunch of them is Mathew Needleman’s Royalty Free Music And Images post.
Create Beautiful Presentations in Haiku Deck Classroom Disclosure: Haiku Deck is an advertiser on FreeTech4Teachers.com Haiku Deck is a great visual storytelling tool that I have raved about since the first time that I tried it back in the fall of 2012. The features that won me over way back then were the integrated search for Creative Commons licensed videos and the automatic controls on font size and quantity. The font controls forced students to think about how they use images and words in presentations. Those core features still remain and more features have been steadily added over the years.
10+ Getting to Know You Activities for Teens & Adults “It is a fact that in the right formation, the lifting power of many wings can achieve twice the distance of any bird flying alone.” ~ Milton Olson Many of us are beginning new classes with new learners. The first days of class are very important for helping our students begin to build relationships with their peers. Getting to know you activities are fun and help us ensure we have a semester full of lasting memories. For teenagers, it is a great way of preventing problems, such as bullying and cliques as teens find it more difficult to be consistently mean to a friend versus a stranger. For adults, these activities promote a classroom culture of trust and respect.
