There were loads of things Phil had to take into consideration when building up his “Kremlin Kit” for the series and I felt that it will definitely be a good read for anyone building up their set of vintage lenses for video use. This is not the first post about Russian lenses on VLFV but it’s unique in its own right as Phil not only shares the reasons for choosing certain lenses but also the ways he has modified them fit his needs. I found a few pictures on www.flickr.com taken with a Panasonic G1 using a c mount to m4/3 adapter. Assuming the images utilize the full 17.3mm x 13mm real estate of the sensor and assuming the 2/3" Scarlet uses the full 10.1mm x 5.35mm area, I scaled and cropped after doing the appropriate math. The point of this test is to see the exact depth of field and field of view, bokeh rendition chromatic aberration, etc in a suitable test bed, i.e. the Panasonic G1. These are the kind of characteristics you can't see when looking at equivalent images taken from a full frame or APS-C type cameras.
