The Fox Is Black

I think what’s particularly delightful about this small, boxy Police Station designed by Klein Dytham is that it turns the ubiquitous parapet into a kind of urban-scaled optic toy. The tall, white wall around the roof of the project is punctuated with cutouts that let folks walking or driving by the station see the shifting spectrum of colors painted behind the perforated wall. The project is appropriately extroverted (who really wants to spend too much time inside a police station?) and is as clever as any of Klein Dytham’s best projects. The wall cantilevers over one side of the project to make a shaded parking space for the patrol car and when the sunlight shines through the wall, it casts a punctuated shadow on the ground.

Lorsque 2 artistes talentueux décident de faire une collaboration, cela donne évidemment un résultat très intéressant. JR et Lui Bolin ont combiné leurs talents pour faire un collage puis une peinture du colleur français par l’artiste chinois. Un projet très réussi à découvrir dans la suite. Yanko Design

The RAD e builds a bridge from the automaker Opel’s origins in bicycle manufacturing to its current position as the transportation producer of the future. The RAD e is the first e-bike designed around automotive production methods. It is made of hollow pressed-steel which is light, strong, flexible and easy to make. The pedelec drive of the RAD e is based on a state-of-the-art 250 Watt electric motor, powered by a lithium-ion battery.

THE COOL HUNTER

Over the past seven years, at our creative agency, Access , we have worked with a number of residential and commercial property developers from Abu Dhabi to Sydney, helping them with development and strategy. Yet we see so often the sad sight of yet another mediocre building going up. We see city councils approving mediocre design and we see cities looking uglier because of it. We see property developers rushing to get their building up, wanting to make a quick sale and profit, and not really caring or thinking about the aesthetics of the building.
