Reports suggest the next iPhone will be thinner than 8mm to stay competitive, thanks to a new display design. Known as in-cell touch panels, this new technology would allow Apple to build the touch sensor into the TFT LCD panel, saving it from using the traditional seperate touch sensor and adhesive layer combo. The result, assuming a report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is correct, is that 0.44mm could be shaved off future iPhones, website Apple Insider reported .
