The noosphere, identified in the early twentieth century as intrinsic to the next stage of human and terrestrial evolution, is defined as the Earth’s “mental sphere” or stratum of human thought. the final work by renowned author José Argüelles, predicts that the noosphere will be fully accessed on December 21, 2012—but warns that we will only successfully make this evolutionary jump through an act of collective consciousness among humans on Earth. The ascension to the noosphere or Supermind (using the terminology of Sri Aurobindo), Argüelles says, will be an unprecedented “mind shift” that mirrors the emergence of life itself on the planet. {*style: Manifesto for the Noosphere *}is intended to inform and prepare humanity for the nature and magnitude of this shift. Argüelles brings in the Mayan long-count calendar, radical theories on the nature of time, advanced states of consciousness, and the possible intervention of galactic intelligence. José Argüelles José Argüelles, born Joseph Anthony Arguelles (/ɑrˈɡweɪ.ɨs/; Rochester, Minnesota January 24, 1939 – March 23, 2011),[1][2] was an American New Age author and artist. He was the founder of Planet Art Network and the Foundation for the Law of Time. He held a Ph.D. in Art History and Aesthetics from the University of Chicago and taught at numerous colleges, including Princeton University, the University of California, Davis, the San Francisco Art Institute, and Evergreen State College. As one of the originators of the Earth Day concept (due in part to the influence of astrologer Dane Rudhyar), Argüelles founded the first Whole Earth Festival in 1970, at Davis, California. He is best known for his leading role in organizing the 1987 Harmonic Convergence event, for inventing (with the assistance of his wife Lloydine) the perpetual Dreamspell calendar in 1992,[3] and for the central role that he played in the emergence of the 2012 phenomenon. Noosphere: The Next Stage in the Evolution of Human Consciousness, A Testimony To mark the recent passing of José Argüelles, we offer an excerpt from his upcoming book Manifesto for the Noosphere: The Next Stage in the Evolution of Human Consciousness, available from Evolver Editions/North Atlantic Books in October 2011. We must enlarge our approach to encompass the formation taking place before our eyes ... of a particular biological entity such as has never existed on earth-the growth, outside and above the biosphere, of an added planetary layer, an envelope of thinking substance, to which, for the sake of convenience and symmetry, I have given the name of the Noosphere. --Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, The Future of Man Noosphere: The Next Stage in the Evolution of Human Consciousness, A Testimony

Shawn F. Murphy: ... Principle We need software which helps us to express our thoughts and opinions in a machine-understandable way, so computers can ease and accelerate the evolution of: our shared knowledge; the software we manipulate it with; the visualizations we use to understand and communicate it; and the collective intelligence which results. Projects is software for evolving knowledge, logic and presentation. Shawn F. Murphy: ...

Nooron is Web software enabling people to collaboratively capture, explore, visualize, organize, filter and analyze knowledge. It is an open, computer-aided think-tank. It provides a framework within which participants present ideas, connect them to other ideas, devise criteria for idea evaluation, and then evaluate them. The resulting storehouse of assertions and opinions can then be navigated, filtered and visualized in new ways. Nooron supports the capture or importation of conventional facts and figures, and is 'knowledge based,' meaning that it uses Knowledge Representation technology to store richly complex and interrelated information. When human consciousness becomes coherent, the behavior of random systems may change. Random number generators (RNGs) based on quantum tunneling produce completely unpredictable sequences of zeroes and ones. But when a great event synchronizes the feelings of millions of people, our network of RNGs becomes subtly structured. Global Consciousness Project -- consciousness, group consciousness, mind

Roger Nelson is Director of the IONS-sponsored Global Consciousness Project (GCP), an international collaboration of scientists, artists, and citizens interested in the extraordinary aspects of human consciousness. He also coordinates research in the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) laboratory at Princeton University. Nelson's professional training is in experimental psychology and psychophysiology, supplemented by a background in physics, statistical methods, engineering, sculpture, electronic music, and multi-media production. He is a student of "alternate psychologies" which represent a wide range of transpersonal and non-western approaches to the understanding of consciousness. He feels that an inclusive and multi-disciplinary approach combining scientific, aesthetic, and spiritual perspectives is essential if we are to come to terms with consciousness as it exists and operates in the physical world. In 1980, Dr. Roger D. Nelson Roger D. Nelson

La montée vers la noosphère -P Levy.pdf
The Omega Point is the purported maximum level of complexity and consciousness towards which some believe the universe is evolving. The term coined by the French Jesuit Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881–1955). In this theory, developed by Teilhard in The Future of Man (1950), the universe is constantly developing towards higher levels of material complexity and consciousness, a theory of evolution that Teilhard called the Law of Complexity/Consciousness. For Teilhard, the universe can only move in the direction of more complexity and consciousness if it is being drawn by a supreme point of complexity and consciousness. Thus Teilhard postulates the Omega Point as this supreme point of complexity and consciousness, which in his view is the actual cause for the universe to grow in complexity and consciousness. In other words, the Omega Point exists as supremely complex and conscious, transcendent and independent of the evolving universe.

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin SJ (French: [pjɛʁ tejaʁ də ʃaʁdɛ̃]; May 1, 1881 – April 10, 1955) was a French philosopher and Jesuit priest who trained as a paleontologist and geologist and took part in the discovery of Peking Man. Teilhard conceived the idea of the Omega Point (a maximum level of complexity and consciousness towards which he believed the universe was evolving) and developed Vladimir Vernadsky's concept of Noosphere. Teilhard de Chardin has two comprehensive works. First, The Phenomenon of Man, sets forth a sweeping account of the unfolding of the cosmos and the evolution of matter to humanity to ultimately a reunion with Christ. Following the leads of St.
Chardin & The NooSphere Information about the NoöSphere NoöShpere: The expanding omnidimensional structure of all reality-thought-perception-labyrinths & feedback loops on this planet; sum total of all human thoughts, feelings and (apparent) sense impressions. Term from Teilhard de Chardin's evolutionary theory, which as a Jesuit Priest, he was forbidden by the Vatican to publish his groundbreaking ideas until his death in 1955. The nöosphere is defined as the sum total of all human knowledge and experience.
Progressive Catholics have long cherished Teilhard de Chardin and his unique and mystical vision, and for those of us who have only recently discovered the New Cosmology, his discovery is as great an epiphany as the encountering of Hildegard, Julian of Norwich, or any of the other mystics who testify to Divine immanence. Teilhard was a man possessed of rare vision who was capable of remythologizing his faith to fit the "facts" that his scientific studies convinced him of. His was not a God "out there" who disapproved of humans hypothesizing about or even tampering with the Creation. His God was an organic entity who lived and breathed the life and breath of the Creation, a Creator who was simultaneously giving birth to and being born from the magnificent organism of the universe. by Rev. Phillip J. Cunningham, C.S.P. In 1964, while attempting to adjust my thinking to the many changes following the Second Vatican Council, I first encountered the writings of the French geologist/paleontologist, Pere Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. Though he had died nine years earlier, it was only after the Council that his works began appearing in the United States. That circumstance necessitates some biographical information.
