Clairvius Narcisse - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clairvius_Narcisse Clairvius Narcisse was a Haitian man said to have been turned into a living zombie by a combination of drugs. After investigating reports of "zombis" (including Narcisse and a handful of others), researchers believed that Narcisse received a dose of chemical mixture containing tetrodotoxin ( pufferfish venom) and bufotoxin (toad venom) to induce a coma which mimicked the appearance of death. He was then allowed to return to his home where he collapsed, "died" and was buried. The Canadian ethnobotanist Wade Davis, who did the research on tetrodotoxin [ 1 ] explains how this would have been done.

The 10 Most Puzzling Ancient Artifacts

T he Bible tells us that God created Adam and Eve just a few thousand years ago, by some fundamentalist interpretations. Science informs us that this is mere fiction and that man is a few million years old, and that civilization just tens of thousands of years old. Could it be, however, that conventional science is just as mistaken as the Bible stories? There is a great deal of archeological evidence that the history of life on earth might be far different than what current geological and anthropological texts tell us. Consider these astonishing finds:

Are Humans Turning Into Gods?

Our friend Jason Silva—writer, filmmaker and founding host/producer of Current TV—is making a new documentary celebrating humans reaching their ultimate potential, the inexorable evolution that is turning us into gods. He's quite optimistic about it. I'm not so sure-JD Turning Into Gods is, like evolution, a work in a progress. The aim of the documentary is to explore and celebrate mankind's journey to 'play jazz with the universe'... it is a story of our ultimate potential, the reach of our intelligence, the scope of our scientific and engineering abilities and the transcendent quality of our heroic and noble calling.

Talking with God

http://www.fullmoon.nu/articles/art.php?id=tal Well, I’ll explain as we go along, but basically he convinced me by having all, and I do mean ALL, the answers. Every question I flung at him he batted back with a plausible and satisfactory answer. In the end, it was easier to accept that he was god than otherwise. Which is odd, because I’m still an atheist and we even agree on that! It all started on the 8.20 back from Paddington. Got myself a nice window seat, no screaming brats or drunken hooligans within earshot.

The God Who Wasn't There
