Differentiation

You had Usain Bolt, Paula Radcliffe and Tanni Grey-Thompson all signed up to attend. You'd all expect them to complete the race and meet the aim of the 100m but they'd each do this in different ways. Usain would really need to be challenged as this is 'his thing.' So how could you cater for this kind of mix in a classroom situation? Differentiation by Product Set all students the exact same task, such as 'paint a still life.' Same Task, Different Expectations.

Differentiation by Feedback Whilst students are completing a task (writing for instance), feedback should be given about their progress. Same Task, Different Feedback. Differentiation by Process All students are required to present a business idea to the class, using a visual aid. Same Task. CAS Corner: Help with CAS activities for IB students. Hello fellow CAS Coordinators!

CAS Corner: Help with CAS activities for IB students

This is just a reminder that your seniors’ CAS Activities must be submitted by June 1, 2014 (depending on your school’s location you may have a different due date). But if you’re like me, by June… My IB Coordinator gave this newsletter called IB Global News #7. Scroll down to where it says “Recent Evidence Shows CAS Increases Civic-Mindedness in Students.” I thought you might want to share this with your students or administrators. The new ManageBac iOS app is now available in the AppStore for iPhones and iPads for FREE. Hello! Recently I’ve been asked questions about schools who are new to IB and do they need to submit the PQ (Programme Questionnaire) and PCF (Programme Completion Form).
