Becoming a Kindling Member | The kindling Trust. Becoming a member of Kindling is a unique opportunity to join an exciting and progressive organisation. Membership involves joining a team of people who work in a co-operative way, supporting but also challenging each other, to work towards ecological sustainability and social justice.

There are a number of ways to become involved in Kindling, from volunteering with one of our Manchester-based projects, to being an advisor or Founding Supporter, to becoming a Member. What is Membership? A member of Kindling is someone who is part of the group working to establish our Future Farm over the coming years. Members either have a desire to become a future resident (living on-site and working for example; running the Centre for Social Change; being a grower for the market garden, providing social enterprise support or establishing a social enterprise). Or have made a long-term commitment to act as an advisor or advocate from a-far.

Transition Network. Wiser.org: The Social Network for Sustainability. Radical Routes - A network of Housing Co-ops, Workers Co-ops and Social Centres. Trading Co-ops Network. For a long time in Radical Routes we have known that many people who live in housing co-ops also work in workers co-operatives that are not a part of the network. There are many good reason for this. Many workers co-ops would find the work commitment to Radical Routes hard to fulfill; attending gatherings at weekends is difficult for workers co-ops in many industries and the benefits of full membership are less tangible for workers co-operatives than they are for housing co-ops.

To redress this the trading co-ops forum and associated working group have been formed. At each gathering people involved in workers co-operatives or other trading organisations and those acting as sole traders get together to discuss issues that affect them and to provide mutual aid. To be a member of the Rad Routes Trading Co-ops Network, co-ops must be full or associate members of Radical Routes. For information on how to become an associate member visit the how to join page.
