http://seashepherdlies.com/ Paul Watson is founder and president of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and seems to have found an effective tool in recruiting naïve followers and spreading the word about the nature of his organization's missions --- he lies. Speaking to a collision on January 6, 2010 between a Japanese whaling vessel and the Sea Shepherd vessel Ady Gil: "The Ady Gil, a Sea Shepherd vessel, it's a fast patrol boat, was sitting still in the water when the Shonan Maru #2 came by, deliberately turned into it, rammed it, cut it in half, sunk it and destroyed it." Another whopper of a lie has recently come to light as we've learned that the Ady Gil did not sink as a result of the collision with the Shona Maru #2. As it turns out, Peter Bethune, the builder and captain of the Ady Gil, has admitted that although damaged, that after the collision, the Gil was sound and afloat, saying, "The boat was definitely salvageable.

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society

https://www.facebook.com/seashepherdconservationsociety The Japanese whaling fleet has returned to Japan where Greenpeace yesterday decided to intercept them at dockside with a demand to stop whaling. Not ex ... actly good timing, considering that whaling is now over for the season, and Sea Shepherd stopped them from whaling weeks previously. Of course the official Greenpeace position is that Sea Shepherd could not have stopped whaling because the official Sea Shepherd position is that the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society does not exist. Greenpeace made no mention of Sea Shepherd’s successful interventions nor did they explain why the whaling ships at dockside were splattered with red paint. We did not see any Greenpeace ships in the Southern Ocean this year, or last year, or the year before last year or even the year before that.

[ 2 ] It has received support for its tactics against fishing, whaling, and seal hunting from quarters such as media personalities, while critics have called the direct action violent . [ 3 ]

Whale Wars : How Sea Shepherd Works : Animal Planet

When Paul Watson says that he and other members of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society risk their lives to save whales, he isn't joking. Every winter, the Sea Shepherd staff and crew set sail to the treacherous Southern Ocean to stop Japanese whalers from catching and killing nature's largest mammals. At that extreme latitude, the winds blow harder and faster than anywhere else on the planet.
