After 10 years of civil war, Sierra Leone is at peace. Charles G. Taylor, the former president of Liberia and once a powerful warlord, was convicted April 26 by an international tribunal of 11 counts of planning, aiding and abetting war crimes committed in Sierra Leone during it's civil war in the 1990s. Taylor was guilty of involvement in crimes against humanity and war crimes, including murder, rape, slavery and the use of child soldiers.

This wonderful work has done by a very talented Belgian painter, illustrator, portraitist, caricaturist and photographer Ben Heine . This creative artist was born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. He Studied graphic arts and sculpture and I also have a degree in journalism. Lets take a look at some of his awesome works that he calls “Drawing Vs Photography” or “Imagination Vs Reality”.
Where Science, Art and Photography Intersect (25 photos) - My Modern Metropolis
Caleb Charland demonstrates lessons in physics and mathematics with his mind-blowing photography. Inspired by children's books of science experiments, he photographs everyday objects (like matches, pens and mirrors) in ways we've never imagined, often using multiple exposures to tell the story. For example, in Fifteen Hours , the last photo in this set, Charland used 15 exposures to show how the flame of a dinner candle beautifully burns down. In still others, like in Cube with Rule and Penlight , Caleb Charland sits in pitch black darkness and, with a penlight in his hand, traces the shape of a cube along a ruler. Though at first glance, you think you're just looking at a box, you soon notice that the mysterious shadows are Charland's hands.

Audrey Kawasaki just released some in-progress teaser pics of her preparing for her first solo show at the Jonathan Levine Gallery in NY this coming Saturday. The show title Hajimari means beginning in Japanese, and is a word often used in the introduction of a story. Not only am I in awe at how breathtakingly beautiful her new work is, I love how Audrey has given us an intimate look at her workspace. Seeing her tools, her cat perched precariously on top of her green chair and her little knick knacks that surround her, we start to see a more complete picture of the artist. Also, I love how immersed Audrey looks in those JVC headphones! Now, just what could she be listening to?

Six months. That's right. This dream-like picture shows each phase of the sun over Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge taken during half a year. The image was captured on a pin-hole camera made from an empty soda can with a 0.25mm aperture and a single sheet of photographic paper. Photographer Justin Quinnell strapped the camera to a telephone pole overlooking the Gorge, where it was left between December 19, 2007 and June 21, 2008––the Winter and Summer solstices.
