LEVs range in size from small electric scooters that fit under a bus seat, up to one-person cars that use freeway HOV lanes. LEVs offer point-to-point transportation for one person and some cargo at speeds and costs that are moderate. For most of us, half of our errands and trips are less than 10 miles and within the range of most LEVs.
An Introduction to Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs) - Electric-Bik
Electric bikes are part of a wide range of Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs) that provide convenient local transportation. Generally designed for one person and small cargo capacity, electric bike range, speed, and cost are moderate. For most of us, the majority of our trips are less than 10 miles - within the range of most e-bikes. Clean, quiet, and efficient LEVs offer the advantages of an extra car without the burdens. Charger Bicycles Unlike other designs that use a throttle to control the motor, the Charger responds to pedaling. The half-horsepower (sustained power rate) electric motor uses programmable "torque-sensing" electronic controls to boost power in direct proportion to the rider's pedaling effort. The torque measurement system, a patent pending technology called the Impulse Systemâ¢, communicates with the Charger's controller to provide additional power to the rear wheel. The system can be set to provide the desired level of electric "boost" - add half, add equal, add two times, or 4 times your own effort (up to a maximum of 1/2 horsepower or 375 watts). The Charger offers a range of up to 40 miles using assist level 1, and assisted speeds of up to 20 miles per hour - the legal maximum assist speed in most States.About Pearltrees
While liberal Christians argue the Bible should be interpreted as society changes, conservatives argue for a more literal reading, leading to differences in belief about God and homosexuality.

An NPR series looks at families and students who are recalculating how much they can spend during a recession; colleges trying to fill seats; and an expansion in federal aid that could determine for some whether they attend college at all. The Obama administration says it will save tens of billions of dollars by taking over the student loan industry. Lenders have resisted the proposal by saying students should have a choice between government loans and those provided by the private sector. But now, lenders are fighting back against that plan with a new argument — that it would kill jobs. Earlier this week, the nation's largest student lender, Sallie Mae, held a town hall for the 700 employees at its loan servicing center in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. The company announced triumphantly that it is returning 2,000 call center jobs to the United States from overseas.

Microsoft has announced that they will be opening up the Marketplace in those countries, so may the downloading begin! This would mean the aforementioned 13 countries will be joining Argentina, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Peru, and the Philippines for some Marketplace goodness, bringing the total number of Marketplace storefronts to 54. Of course, Microsoft is definitely not going to stop here, as they have plans outlined for the UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Israel, Thailand, and Vietnam in the near future.Touchnote T1028M
Over the last 48hrs I’ve been focusing on the Gigabyte Touchnote T1028M that has been sent over by Mobilx . 48hrs isn’t a long time but having done the unboxing , a full 3hr live test ( recording ) with viewer feedback (thanks to the 500+ people that dropped in during the live session) and Q&A along with a full 2-day use as my main PC, I feel that I’m a position to be able to give you the highs and lows. The Touchnote is a device that falls between, or rather overlaps, the netbook, tabletPC and notebook categories and I have to say, I’m quite impressed with it. It’s a very unique and enjoyable device with some excellent features and very few issues. The images above sum up some of the features that make it unique.

Aqua Liquid Phone
Wish you could go to greater lengths when it comes to keeping the earth green? The Aqua Liquid cell phone ought to cater to this need, as it features liquid fuel cells technology to help maintain the verdancy of the earth, although it sacrifices efficiency in exchange. The Aqua Liquid is full recyclable and is eco-friendly, where the E-Ink display makes sure it sips less power when used and won’t cut you off in the middle of a conversation. Perhaps we should lobby for greener phones instead of handsets that aim to do just about anything and everything. Dena Christoffersen has irked her father’s anger as she actually accumulated a $4,756.25 cell phone bill that also included more than 10,000 text messages sent out. This is partly due to the fact that the family does not have a text messaging plan, and in one instance, Dena sent over 300 texts during the eight-hour school day which also saw her grades plummet from As to Fs. Her dad was so infuriated that he literally hammered the daughter’s handset to smithereens.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus
Hyundai takes another step forward in keeping the world green with its second generation hydrogen fuel cell bus which is on parade at the Seoul Motor Show. Based on the most recent Low Floor Aero City bus platform, this fuel cell electric bus will boast a bunch of technical refinements, making it capable of hitting the 100km/h maximum speed mark. The use of three 100kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors will also come in handy, offering a grand total of 300kW of propulsion which results in a 33% improvement in top speed. Compressed hydrogen fuel will be stored on the roof, spread across half a dozen cylinders pressurized to 350 bar (5000 psi) that offer the bus with an operating range of 360km in city mode.on 04/09/2009 09:43 PDT Twitter has seen a phenomenal growth rate, and it is interesting to see what normal folks are able to cook up with this service. A computer programmer decided to rig a cat door to tweet each time a cat enters or exits a home. Dubbed the Tweeting Cat Door (how original), this was developed as the person was sick and tired of neighborhood felines sneaking into his garage and munching on his own cat’s food.
