Tweens and teens are entering a new world of love and romantic relationships. But when you combine the overwhelming emotions of first crushes and partners with the emotional complexity of tween and teen minds, it can be hard to figure out whether a relationship is real — and whether it's healthy. Add in media messages that glorify unhealthy behavior — how many romantic comedies involve the boy who just won't give up on the girl who said no?

I’m the first to admit that I haven’t read very many fairy tale re-tellings at all, so I had to do a little research this week to come up with a list of young adult fairy tale retellings that I want to read. I’m not exaggerating when I say there are soooo many amazing sounding books out there that I now want to read. I had a hard time narrowing it down to ten. But, I fought the good fight and ended up with the ten books below.

Back in May, The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) announced lists of the most borrowed books from libraries across the country for the first quarter of 2015. Libraries provided their top ten most borrowed books in four categories: adult non-fiction, adult fiction, young-adult and children's books. And in all but one of these categories, Australian writers faired well and accounted for half of the most popular books – except in the young adult fiction category, which was largely dominated by American authors.
