So, I’ve let it “marinate” for a few weeks, and I have come up with a thrifty solution! Step 1: Go to Office Max or Staples and get some clear folders like the ones in this picture below. Step 2: Cut the folders and tape them together. Tape the two folders together to create a large enough area for your stencil.

After I got home, I decided that I didn’t want to keep the tips on them (at least not for this project) so I cut them off with my handy saw that my hubby got me for Christmas. Then I cut them in half. They are about 10 inches long. I knew I was going to sand it and wanted to have a darker wood under the paint, so I stained it with some dark stain I had leftover from another project from last summer. Then I painted them with a light yellow acrylic paint. Before I nailed it together I sanded down each piece including the the two pieces that actually get nailed on the back. To attach the pieces on the back I put them all together and then nailed the nails into each board. I cut the words out on some leftover vinyl. I made another one…I love this one! I've been eye balling crayon art for one of the 33 projects so here it is..... All you need is: blank canvas (any size you prefer) glue gun glue sticks crayons candle stick (for the circle) hair dryer (not pictured) If you google search crayon art, you'll see so many different ways you can do this. After seeing if all the crayons would fit, I then practiced again on the actual canvas. Whipped out the glue gun and glued every crayon onto the canvas. Off to the hair dryer. This project is a major DIYer and easy!

To make a paper butterfly collage of your own you need a few supplies: Decorative paper Scissors or Xacto blade Butterfly images to trace and cut out (I have provided some at the bottom of this post which can be made to any size you like, but feel free to make some of your own or image search around the internet) Pins for mounting butterflies to the wall, or a canvas to mount butterflies to before wall mounting. You can use any paper you like, but for butterflies you want to stand alone and mount to your wall individually, I would recommend card stock as other papers do not hold their shape as well (wings may get a little droopy, especially on larger sized cut outs). I have been getting a little snap happy with my Fuji Instax camera lately. I have a big pile of them sitting on my desk, not really knowing what to do with them all. So as a bit of a salute to the darkroom I decided to use string and pegs to display them. This is super quick and simple to do. I had mine up on the wall in 10 minutes. This is great for me as I change out the photos so they always have different ones displayed. You will need: Fabric, wall hooks (I used 3M decorating clips which I like because they wont leave a mark on your wall), mini wooden pegs, string or twine, masking tape, fabric scissors or pinking shears and photos or artwork you want to display. 1. 2.
