SCOTUS Rejects Seditious Texas Lawsuit Out Of Hand. The United States Supreme Court denied the state of Texas a shot at usurping the November election and turning this nation into an autocracy Friday.

In a brief statement, the Court said "Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections. " Indeed. However, Justices Alito and Thomas partially dissented. "In my view, we do not have discretion to deny the filing of a bill of complaint in a case that falls within our original discretion," Alito wrote. He went on to say that he would grant the motion to file the bill of complaint but would not grant other relief, nor express any view on any other issue. ‘Alito is deep state now!’ MAGA fans mocked over conservative Supreme Court refusing to save Trump from election loss.

Supporters of President Donald Trump believed that conservative Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito would save the presidency from President-elect Joe Biden based on a series of false “voter fraud” claims.

Thomas & Alito Retirement Hoopla Canceled Now That Gorsuch & Kavanaugh Are Cucks

(Photo by Alex Wong/Getty Images) Remember last week when conservative gadflies were clutching their monkey’s paws and hoping against hope that they could see TWO open Supreme Court seats? Thomas was going to retire — like they assert every year — and the “stronger rumor” claimed Alito was also eyeing retirement. It was a weird wish for conservatives because as we all know it’s impossible to fill a Supreme Court vacancy during an election year. Mitch McConnell couldn’t have been lying to cover a dereliction of his constitutional duty back then! But earlier today, all those conservative smiles turned upside down as Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh joined the majority in shooting down Trump’s meritless arguments that the president never has to comply with subpoenas for his records. Thomas and Alito must have walked out of that conference wondering, “and they plan to replace us with cucks like these guys?”

In a Thursday decision, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the Trump administration violated federal law when it ended the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) — upholding protections from deportation for roughly 649,000 unauthorized immigrants in the U.S.

Supreme Court rules Trump administration illegally ended DACA

Why it matters: It's an unexpected victory for immigration activists. In the opinion, Chief Justice John Roberts, who sided with the liberal justices, wrote that the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) decision to rescind DACA in the fall of 2017 was "arbitrary and capricious. " Between the lines: The Trump administration has legal authority to end DACA, but the court found that the way it rescinded the program in 2017 violated federal law. "The dispute before the Court is not whether DHS may rescind DACA. All parties agree that it may.

By the numbers: DACA recipients were brought to the U.S. illegally as children — under 16 years of age — and many have grown up in the country. President Obama tweeted: NPR Choice page. The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that a police officer can make a traffic stop for the wrong reason so long as they have a “reasonable” understanding of the law they are enforcing, NBC News reported on Monday.

Supreme Court rules 8-1 that cops can pull you over for the wrong reason

“To be reasonable is not to be perfect,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the court’s 8-1 decision. “And so the Fourth Amendment allows for some mistakes on the part of government officials, giving them ‘fair leeway for enforcing the law in the community’s protection.’” The case concerned the 2009 arrest of Nicholas Heien near Dobson, North Carolina. Sgt. Matt Darisse pulled Heien over for having only one working brake light, then found a bag of cocaine while searching his vehicle and charged him with attempted drug trafficking. King v. More than 600,000 people in Texas, about 325,000 in North Carolina, and another 275,000 in Georgia would see insurance premiums soar by similar amounts. Nationwide, more than 4 million people living in 37 states would be in situations like these. Most would have no way to pay the higher bills, forcing them to drop insurance coverage altogether. Supreme Court: Police Need Warrant To Search Cell Phones.

Supreme Court Makes Sweeping Endorsement Of Digital Privacy. Police officers must get a warrant before searching the contents of a cell phone seized during an arrest, the Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday, an opinion that amounts to a sweeping endorsement of digital privacy.

Supreme Court Makes Sweeping Endorsement Of Digital Privacy

"Modern cell phones are not just another technological convenience. With all they contain and all they may reveal, they hold for many Americans 'the privacies of life,'" Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the opinion. "The fact that technology now allows an individual to carry such information in his hand does not make the information any less worthy of the protection for which the Founders fought. Our answer to the question of what police must do before searching a cell phone seized incident to an arrest is accordingly simple — get a warrant. " Roberts shot down the Obama administration's argument that searching a cell phone is “materially indistinguishable” from physical searches.

Six Supreme Court decisions to watch for this month. Supreme Court Rejects James Risen's Bid To Protect His Source. WASHINGTON (AP) — A reporter who has been ordered to divulge the identity of the source of classified information lost his bid Monday to get the Supreme Court to clarify whether journalists have a right to protect their confidential sources. Without comment, the justices rejected an appeal from New York Times reporter James Risen to revisit the court's 42-year-old ruling that has raised questions about journalists' ability to shield from public view the names of people who tell them government secrets. Risen detailed a botched CIA effort during the Clinton administration to thwart Iran's nuclear ambitions. His reporting is at the center of criminal charges against former CIA officer Jeffrey Sterling of disclosing government secrets. Notes from a meeting with journalists last week taken by Associated Press General Counsel Karen Kaiser show that Holder said, "as long as I'm the attorney general, no reporter who is doing his or her job will go to jail.

Supreme Court Makes Big Decision On When Cops Can Enter Your Home. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that police may search a home without a warrant when two occupants disagree about allowing officers to enter, and the resident who refuses access is then arrested. The justices declined to extend an earlier ruling denying entry to police when the occupants disagree and both are present.

Justice Samuel Alito wrote the court's 6-3 decision holding that an occupant may not object to a search when he is not at home. "We therefore hold that an occupant who is absent due to a lawful detention or arrest stands in the same shoes as an occupant who is absent for any other reason," Alito said. Police found a shotgun, ammunition and a knife when they searched the Los Angeles apartment that Walter Fernandez shared with his girlfriend, Roxanne Rojas.

Fernandez told police they could not enter. Fernandez is serving a 14-year prison term on robbery and guns charges. Supreme Court to decide if political groups can lie in advertising. Lonesome Alito Declares Marriage Only Between A Man And The Sea. WASHINGTON—Reaffirming a deeply traditionalist definition of the institution of matrimony, Supreme Court justice Samuel Alito issued a statement Monday declaring that marriage can only strictly exist between a man and the tempestuous sea.

“It is my opinion that the only constitutionally sanctionable union is composed of a seafaring man and the solitary life of fickle winds and brine-crested breakers,” said Alito, adding that any current law that fails to narrowly delineate marriage as a compact involving a man, the churning waves, and the sea-song of gulls in the early dawn is invalid according to the highest law of the land. “The principle of equal protection enshrined in the Constitution emphatically does not entitle the federal government or any state body to redefine this sacred maritime institution.
