The Palestinian Center for Human Rights says more than 800 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been killed in Israeli drone strikes in the Gaza Strip over the past five years. The rights group said that 825 Palestinians had died from the attacks carried out by the aerial vehicles from June 2006 up to October 2011, The Washington Post reported on Saturday. The group also said that most of the victims had been targeted mistakenly or caught in the shrapnel shower resulting from the strikes.

The victims, most of them children, died in Zhari district of Kandahar Province late on Wednesday when US-led International Security Assistance Force launched an air strike in the area, AFP reported.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai's office, in a statement, "strongly condemned" the strike. President Karzai has also tasked a team with investigating the incident. The loss of civilian lives at the hand of foreign forces has dramatically increased anti-American sentiments in Afghanistan.
