Workers' Liberty | For international working class solidarity and socialism

The political debates leading up and during the Spanish Revolution (1936-7) were critical in deciding the fate of the Spanish workers' movement. A 1947 article on James Connolly in Workers' Republic, the journal of the Revolutionary Socialist Party, Irish Section of the Fourth International, reproduced in Labor Action (paper of the US Trotskyist group led by Max Shachtman, Hal Draper, and others). There are essentially two Bayard Rustins: the one up to 1963 who was a radical pacifist not linked to Max Shachtman or to the Socialist Party and after 1963 focused on making links between the civil rights movement and the trade union movement. This leaflet was produced by the Irish Trotskyists of the Revolutionary Socialist Party in 1948. http://www.workersliberty.org/
http://www.solidarity-us.org/current/ It has been several weeks since Obama announced that the G8 will be meeting at the militarized Camp David, rather than in Chicago. Activists are still ambiguous about the move, even as we publicly declare victory. On one hand, the withdrawal of G8 demonstrates the power of the protestors, and Chicago-area organizers in particular, to kick out this monstrous budget-draining summit.

http://sdyeniyol.org/ Mandel'in Marksizm'e Giriş'inin beşinci baskısı, Daniel Bensaid'in, yapıtı tarihsel bağlamına oturtan ve onu bir dizi anahtar sorunla güncelleştiren "Otuzuncu yılında Marksizm'e Giriş'e eleştirel bir giriş" önsözüyle birlikte yayınlanıyor.

For a whole day the Faculty of Physics at La Sapienza University in Rome was transformed into a free university in movement. Approximately 200 participants, for the most part young people and students, were able to listen, on Saturday March 24, to the speech by Eric Toussaint, president of the CADTM (Committee for the Abolition of Third World Debt),Belgium, who is a militant, an activist of the global justice movement and author of the book Debitocrazia , who by sketching out the elements of the global economic crisis explained how and why cancellation of illegitimate debt constitutes an opportunity for social movements to think about an alternative. - read article... http://internationalviewpoint.org/index.php

http://www.wsws.org/ While the vote to postpone the two-tier tuition system is being cast as a victory for students opposed to the attack on public education and police repression on campus, in reality it is only a maneuver to buy time. The ongoing labour unrest in China is a sign that its slowing economic growth is driving the working class into a confrontation with the government. By Jean Shaoul, 10 April 2012 Recently released documents show that Israel’s Civil Administration, part of the Defence Ministry, has long earmarked up to 10 percent of the West Bank for new settlements or the expansion of existing ones.
