Un-Fried French Fries. Untitled. Borrowing another Delicious magazine recipe. Hope they don’t mind. Somehow I doubt it; it’s only recipe plagiarism when you make someone else’s recipes and don’t reveal the source, isn’t it? I’m a sucker for their magazine, though I must admit I don’t cook a lot of their recipes. They’re too fancy for me and for everyday cooking. But that somewhat changed. Ingredients: 8 oz sourdough bread (or any other dense, dark bread) 3 large sweet onions 3 large garlic cloves (or 5 medium ones) 2 1/2 cups chicken broth 1 tsp dried thyme 1 cup milk 3 oz butter Directions: Cube the bread. Peel the onions. Grate the garlic. I’m using chicken bouillon cubes for this, but I’m sure vegetable cubes will work fine as well.

Heat half the butter in a skillet, toss the bread cubes in there and cook until crispy and brown. At the same time heat the remaining butter in a different pan and cook the onions, garlic and a tsp fresh or dried thyme for 20 to 30 minutes. Get yourself a cup of milk. Kay’s Recipe Card. Steak au Poivre - The Showstopper. I have a comment on this comment, then I have a comment for the OP.

To Amy: Removing to foil is simply a way to keep the steaks warm whilst resting (FOR 5 MINUTES AT LEAST… ALWAYYYS!). When the OP says remove to foil, he/she doesn’t mean to wrap them tightly. They mean to place them in a plate, and form a loose ‘covering’ of foil. This will simply trap some of the heat and allow it to remain warm, without trapping too much moisture. To the OP and to anyone else who decides to try ‘flambe’: It is important to note: When you add cognac or any other high proof liquour to a hot pan, then ignite, you are not burning the alcohol itself, per se. . - Never light alcohol while there is an open flame/heat source. . - Notice how in the OP, they remove the pan from the stove and then light. . - Keep a heavy lidded pan nearby, just in case things Do go awry (if you follow the first 2 tips, they won’t) - Always have at least an ABC rated fire extinguisher within arm’s reach.

Yeah those you that know us probably just nodded your head yes and agreed with that statement, but I’m not talking that kind of dippy, I’m talkin’ dip dip. We love dips. Be it artichoke or olive, dill, veggie or clam, (hey we are from New England after all) or even the Heluva Good dips my husband loves to keep the fridge stocked with, we love a good dippin’. Onion dip is one of our favorites and up until now we enjoyed the occasional Lipton onion dip, but sadly, that can be no more.

I’m afraid I have to cast off the powdery dip in the pouch now that I have found this dip. This creamy, tantalizing onion dip that is like no other dip we have tasted. Amazingly good. The hardest part of making this was caramelizing the onions and that took like all of 20 minutes. I made this over the weekend when we had 2 extra kids in the house (as always) and the gang of them just about polished the whole bowl off on us.

Must make more. Honestly, if you love dip, make this. Green Goddess Dressing: Recipe. To Die For Banana Cake with Vanilla Bean Frosting. Most favorited all-time - page 2. Taco Soup for the Sniffly. A few weeks ago it started raining in Nashville and hasn’t stopped, so we now have a small pond in the backyard that might be able to support life. One of our neighbors helpfully pointed out that the pond wouldn’t be there if I stopped backing into the yard and parked in the garage. Like a normal person. And I’m all, BUT WHERE WOULD WE KEEP THE BODIES? Kidding! But the rain and all that comes with it have given me a sinus infection that’s starting to inhibit my ability to function as a normal person.

So, since I can’t go around town speaking my mind and shaming my mother, I decided to heal myself a truckload of soup. Not a healthy, restorative, vitamin-packed soup, like a minestrone or a country vegetable. Preferably while watching “The Biggest Loser.” Thank God and Mama for trashy-good Taco Soup. You don’t deserve this sort of torture. This bread hits all the comfort spots in my soul. I’m sorry and you’re welcome and I love you. Let’s start at the beginning. I did this all without the use of a stand mixer and dough hook. This dough can be made and left to rise , then refrigerated overnight for use in the morning. This is the dough just before it’s left to rise. After the dough has rested and risen for an hour, I knead it in a few tablespoons of flour. This is the part in the bread process where you can wrap the dough and place it in the fridge to rest overnight. I worked with my dough right away.

She thought it was the most wonderful cookie she had ever tasted, and asked if the recipe was available. She was told that it was, but there was a charge of two-fifty. She said that was fine. She got the recipe and told them to charge it to her account. In December, when she received her bill, there was a charge for $250.00. She called Neiman's and told them it was a mistake - that the charge should be $2.50. She was told there was NO mistake that the charge for the recipe was correct. The bottom line is she paid. She vowed to get back at Neiman's and wants to give the recipe out to everyone she possibly can. 2 c. butter 2 c. granulated sugar 2 c. brown sugar 4 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 4 c. flour 5 c. blended oatmeal 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. baking soda 24 oz. chocolate chips (2 lg. bags) 1 (8 oz.)

Cream butter and both sugars. Bake for 6 minutes at 375°F. Fluffy Pancakes | Blogger For Hire. This pancake recipe is the result of mixing and matching different recipes from many different sources. It is the result of trying and failing so many times, that I almost declared pancakes as the one breakfast recipe I couldn’t master. But I persisted, and this recipe is perfect – as perfect as a pancakes recipe can be, because making pancakes does involve frying, and frying is something that each of us needs to play with. It changes depending on your type of stove (gas or electric), on how hot the skillet is, and on how evenly hot you manage to keep it while frying multiple batches. But the instructions here are as close as it gets to “perfect,” and the result?
