The Egg Squeeze You can squeeze an egg into a jar with just the power of air pressure Solid as a Rock? Rocks may seem solid, but there's more to them than meets the eye. Air Matters You can detect the tiny mass of air with materials from around the house Free Fall Create a weightless environment here on Earth Canister Rocket Make your own rocket with some antacids and a film canister Where's the Air? You can't see it, but you can feel it! Physics@Home. IB Physics: Activities. In line with the approaches to teaching and learning I am moving to a more student centred approach.

IB Physics: Activities

Instead of me standing by the board asking questions the students now sit by their computers and ask me questions. To this end I have started to produce a series of activity worksheets that combine observation, measurement, theory, simulation and problem solving for each component of the course. Each activity lasts just over an hour with extension work if required. As with the whole of this website IT'S AN ONGOING PROJECT so they are a bit rough and ready, however my students are doing a good job of spotting mistakes and pointing out bits that are difficult to follow and I'm doing a good job of correcting them :-). Having now started to use these with my classes I can say that, if done properly, many would last quite a bit more than an hour.

The Physics Front. Chrome Music Lab. Periodic Table Database. There are hundreds of periodic tables in web space, but there is only one comprehensive database of periodic tables & periodic system formulations.

Periodic Table Database

If you know of an interesting periodic table that is missing, please contact the database curator: Dr Mark R Leach. Clock Face Periodic Table In 2014 Prof. Martyn Poliakoff – of YouTube fame – showed us a working Periodic Table clock, here. The designer of the clock, Nagayasu (a Japannese school teacher), has now provided a fuller periodic table based on the same design: Top of Page © Mark R.

The Physics Classroom. Investigation Roadmaps - Motion. Introduction STC Motion and Design is a 15-lesson kit intended for students in grade 5.

Investigation Roadmaps - Motion

It introduces students to the physics of motion and the importance of technological design. More… Big Ideas This kit is focused on both science content ideas and science process skills. Force as a push or pull More… Foundational Images Along with a variety of drawings, sketches, and multiviews, three of our foundational images are used in conjunction with the STC Motion and Design kit: Vectors , Particles and the Magnifier tool. To get a better idea of how some of these foundational images can be used in the classroom, refer to the Motion and Design roadmap below.
