Home. Burlesque Bustle Skirt | How To | Cut Out. This is the pattern I created to make my bustle skirt. You can use it as is, or change it up a little. These instructions are super detailed, I'm basically walking you through what I learned along the way, so skip ahead if you're comfortable with some of these steps. Decide where you want the waistband to sit - at your waist or hips, and measure that circumference + add a little bit for seams. I wanted mine closer to my hips and I wanted to use a tab-over belt-like closure to make it adjustable and add a little rustic flare, so I added a few inches to my hip measurement (42"). Style_beauty. It’s completely realistic to get gorgeous in the morning with a an easy, everyday, 7 minute makeup look. It’s true. Stay with me. Work, school, kids, dinner, housework, family time. These are just a few things that take up life, often we probably even have more to add to the list.

I have whittled my makeup routine down to 7 minutes. Eyes: Revlon palette. Natalia Natalia is a mom to two crazy boys and wife to one handsome dude. Manicures at home are pretty much my specialty. It’s just a thing, and we all have our things, don’t we? Well anyway. Eventually though even a gel manicure starts to peel, taking the whole nail-bed with it, and the temptation to peel the manicure all the way off becomes too much for me (gel peels off like a … >> find out more… Allison Well, hello there! I love that with a few different hair appliances you can create so many different looks.

Geodes can be grown without using egg dye. The resulting crystals are clear to milky white, like quartz. While large chicken eggshells are suggested in this process, larger eggshells can be used. Simply increase the size of the plastic or glass container and double or triple the amounts of dye (1 packet), alum (3/4 part), and water (2 parts) used to create the growing solution. This Easter craft from Jim "Figgy" Noonan doubles as a science project, offering an opportunity to show kids the crystallization process at work.

Resources: If you don't want to blow your own egg or would like to try a larger eggshell, pre-blown shells are available from The Eggery Place. Project Ideas.

Snow-Globe Soap | Alphamom - StumbleUpon. Dec19 by Brenda Ponnay Stuff their stockings with something they can wash their hands with! By Brenda Ponnay What’s cuter than a button, small enough to fit in a stocking, won’t rot your teeth and leaves you squeaky clean? A mini snow-globe soap, of course! Here’s a super-fun craft you can whip up in an afternoon.

This is technically just “melt and pour” soap so it might be considered cheating to some hard-core soap enthusiasts but I’m not about to mess with lye or distilling vodka when I’ve got a small child acting as my personal assistant. First you’ll cut up the glycerine into 1-inch chunks. Don’t be fooled by the picture above. After you’ve poured the glycerine, let it cool just enough to form a thin skin on the top. After all your toys are arranged, you can add your snow. Next you’ll pop it in the freezer for about twenty minutes or until the cubes are cool to touch from the underside of the ice cube tray (be sure to check the middle).

Eat Drink Chic. Kuler. Diy craft projects. Fortune cookie favors. I needed a favor for my friend Emily's baby shower recently, and decided to make some personalized fortune cookies. I'm not a fan of the crunchy stale fortune cookies you usually get after a meal in a chinese restaurant, but these homemade fortune cookies not only look cute, they actually taste pretty delicious!

I came up with as many fortunes as I could for this new baby girl, things like "Baby Wight will never cry" or "Baby Wight will grow up to be a famous trapeze artist" or my favorite, "Baby Wight will be a boy! Surprise! ". The fortunes were printed and cut into strips, mine are about 1/2" high and 7" or so wide. The recipe I used is a traditional tuile batter, which you drop by spoonful onto a Silpat. Then using the back of your spoon, you push the batter into a 4" circle, keeping it as thin and even as you can. Once the cookies come out of the oven, you need to work quickly to add the paper fortunes and form the cookies. It takes a few batches to get all this figured out. DIY: Gift Card Snow Globe | the creative mama. I know that people like receiving gift cards for the holidays, but I feel that they can be a little impersonal.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with putting a gift card in an envelope for someone, but if I have the time, I like to make them a little extra special. This DIY Snow Globe takes about 10 minutes to put together, the longest part is waiting for the glue to dry. When Ava gave this gift to her teacher, she said that our snow globe was the cutest thing that she had ever seen. You only need a few things to make this project and I would bet that you already have them around your home. Here is what you need: a jar of some sort a gift card hot glue gun glitter embellishments water ribbon Glue a strip on the bottom of your jar. Add some glitter to the bottom of your jar. Fill the jar with water. See how pretty and shimmery the glitter is? Put the top on your snow globe and add a ribbon around the bottom. Idea source: One Charming Party.

Project. January 25th, 2014 I should title this post “Mr. Project is the most amazing person, I’ve ever met. Lets see all the beautiful things he’s created for this house” But it got kind of wordy there at the end . But seriously, Mr. Project is so incredibly talented and hardworking, and I’m thrilled that we’ll be able to see his handiwork all around us in this new house. He did nearly all the millwork/trim/carpentry in this house, needless to say, he hasn’t been sleeping much. When we designed the house, I wanted an entry way that had door portals so you felt you were actually inside of a room instead of a wide hallway.

I thought about having columns built out to separate the spaces, but decided that columns were more formal than the look I was going for. Mr. Our front door is one of my favorite features of the house. I wanted an perfect paneled wall (no doors etc.) in the entry as a backdrop for my entry table vignette. Here’s another detail view of the ceiling. Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Post post notes: Draft-create-your-own-sun-jar-lifehacker-edition from lifehacker.com. She hooked up the printer, monitor and keyboard and put them on the table. I choose to use an external monitor and keyboard (but no mouse!) I didn't want people actually touching my laptop I wanted to give them as little opportunity as possible to mess something up hence not having a mouse. That's it! My craft “room” Well, it’s not really a room. There’s no real flooring, and zero drywall…but it works and I lurve it! I created this “space” a couple years ago, but recently have been making changes to make it function better and look cuter– as cute as cement walls and floors can get. ;) The space started out like this a few years ago: That would be a dumping zone. Last year, I added a folding table and shelving to hold wrapping and craft supplies and tools: A few weeks ago, when I started the massive decrapification of the basement (AGAIN), I made a few adjustments – I have learned the way I had things placed down here contributes to the crapifying of the space every year.

The first change was to move a shelf that had most of my decor items from the back of the basement to this area – I found having in the back corner of the basement made it rare that I would actually walk back there and put the stuff away. So I moved it to this area. Once I had everything in the right spot, this is what I was left with:

How to draw graffiti. This is a cool way to learn how to draw graffiti in legal areas. Step 1: Familiarize yourself with different styles of graffiti. No matter where you live, you can probably find graffiti nearby. If you can't find any in your neighborhood, visit a city if possible and look there--graffiti is predominately an urban art form. If a trip isn't possible, look on the internet. There are hundreds of websites that have pictures of graffiti; you can take a virtual tour of styles from across the country and around the world. Some pieces are obviously better than others, but the more you see the better you'll know the characteristic styles of graffiti. Step 2: Write down a name on a sheet of paper.

Step 3: Choose a style you'd like to use for the name.

DIY Homemade Ice Cream. 10 Recipes for Homemade Art Supplies. Image: Stock Xchng During these cold, snowy, winter days, art projects can be a homeschool mom’s best friend! They are for this homeschool mama. Art projects give us something to do when we are stuck inside, and keep the kids off of the television & video games when they are bored.
