Color Me Pretty. Hello it’s Leslie again with one last holiday series for you to share.

Color Me Pretty

This time around I wanted to work with white, varying shades of turquoise and a touch of silver. I find this simple holiday palette very calm, soothing and easy to do because I already use these colors in my home decor. It is nice to incorporate a holiday theme into the colors you already use, creating a much simpler approach to holiday decorating. I couldn’t help but use a little Martha Stewart glitter this year on some of my gift tags! I made black and white copies of some post cards and then painted glue on with a brush and glittered away in small sections.

My first trimester was trying at times, tired, nauseous, weepy but now that I’m well into my second trimester I’m feeling like myself again. While my cravings for chocolate have yet to subside, a forceful urge to create art has emerged, so when I found this course via the Dreamy Whites blog I signed up immediately!

A Modern Take on the Doily - $850 Lamp for less than $50. A Modern Take on the Doily $850 Lamp for less than $50?

Yes Please! Hello Pretty people! We are so excited to share a project we did this past weekend. A few months ago, I came across a ceiling lamp, I absolutely loved. It was $850, and I just couldn’t justify the spend, being it was simply made of doilies. To get started, you are going to need a few things to make this project successful.

Corn starchballoon (we used a 40” blown up until completely round, as pictured)upholstery thread (but any thread will do)twinedrop clothschool gluecheap paintbrushpetroleum jellylamp kit24+ doiliesstiff stuff We sewed the doilies around the balloon with the upholstery thread, very carefully. Make sure to create a space to place your bulb socket. Once you have sewn about ¾ of your balloon, stop and do the last ¼ separately. Lay down your tarp and hang your balloon from some twine above the tarp. Rub the balloon down with the petroleum jelly. It should look something like the image above! Holidays. I. LOVE. VALENTINE’S. Equipment Some handy notes: 1. The buttons. Single hole, hole punch (like this one here). 2. 3. Okay.. lets get started! Tracing tips: You can use either coloured pencils or permanent pens. Words must be writted backwards in order to be readable. Shrinking the buttons: To shrink the buttons, you can use an oven or a heat gun (the kind used for embellishing). After the buttons have twisted and twirled, and are LYING FLAT, it’s time to take them out.

Note: If the skrinking is taking too long, you may need to turn your oven up. Martha Stewart Clip-Art and Template Crafts: Clip Art and Templates for Mother's Day Crafts - Martha Stewart.
