Housed within Xavier Niel’s Station F, this café-drome for start-uppers is decked out with lounge chairs, pizza ovens and a giant BBQ outside, plus La Trattoria, Panificio, Biergarten and La Caffeteria inside. Eat surrounded by train cars, gigantic balloons, plant-draped arbors and insane bathrooms… For us, the day we went for lunch, we just had to go to the pop-up stand Au Cheval of course, for the absolute coolest burger from Chicago. Entitled La Felicità, this huge Italian restaurant x food-market has opened on May 25, 2018 within Station F in Paris 13th arrondissement. 4,5000-sqm including 1000s-qm of sunny terrace, 3 bars, 5 kitchens, a cafeteria open 24h a day… talk about crazy! “Gigantic, unbelievable, incredible”. Compliments burst out during the opening night of La Felicità. We must say that Tigrane Seydoux and Victory Lugger’s – alias Big Mamma – new address has everything to impress people.
Set in Paris 13th arrondissement, in Station F Halle Freyssinet, Xavier Niel’s 2017-open startup incubator, La Felicità is a restaurant and an Italian food-market that is simply immoderate. Between the skyscrapers and the aboveground metro station, the no man’s land of the 13th has just been brightened by Shepard Fairey, who tagged the façade of 93 rue Jeanne-d’Arc, the second location for the Brazilian restaurant Tempero (rue Clisson), with wood, glass and steel decor.
This place is a small miracle, and at both lunch and dinner Olivier sends out joyful dishes from his kitchen/atelier. On the lunch menu for us: a pork terrine with cream of zucchini or a lively chilled tomato broth with spicy tofu; poached cod with beets, zucchini and cream of potatoes; and a nice dessert with black figs and peach sorbet sprinkled with fresh thyme. The wine list was a little average, even if there were a few well-chosen options (Muscat sec Domaine du Mas Rouge, Languedoc Le Loup dans la Bergerie for €4 a glass), but there’s good artisanal La Parisienne beer for €6 a bottle. As usual, they’ve come up with a great concept: mixing an old school guinguette style party with ethnic decor and organic food from the Belgians at la Frite, all with music by le Baron’s resident DJs. How cool is it to have an organic burger in a jungle style rooftop while listening to 80′s tunes? Don’t really know, but we can expect hotter and older girls than at Wanderlust…. when it’s not raining. Nuba is open 12am-2am on Friday, noon-2am on Saturday, and 1pm-9pm on Sunday. Vous en connaissez une somme sur le dim sum, vous ne calez pas devant un canard laqué et vous n'êtes plus totalement nouille devant des raviolis pékinois. Bref, les goûts chinois ne sont plus un casse-tête. A votre corps défendant, certaines saveurs du pays-continent vous passent encore au-dessus des baguettes. Celles de Shandong, par exemple. Une province située au sud-est de Pékin, qui a enfanté l'art culinaire Lu, caractérisé par sa profusion de fruits de mer, ses notes délicates et subtilement vinaigrées. Quand vous saurez que 1,3 milliard de Chinois mangent à la mode de Shandong, vous ne tarderez pas à aller prendre une leçon de rattrapage auprès de Xue Chaoqing. Moins "clivante", la salade de poulet aux légumes râpés enjôle tous les palais de ses notes aigres-douces.
