Flourless Pizza Recipe. I was at the gym yesterday when a fellow weightlifter and I got to talking about diet (for lack of a better word) and nutrition. He listened intently, interested in the philosophical foundation upon which the Primal eating plan is based. At the end of the conversation he had the same response I get from many people new to the Primal Blueprint. It started off with “I could never…” and ended with admiration in my ability to be so diligent about what I put in my body. It seems that most people get hung up on a couple things they think (and maybe they’re right) they could never “give up”. For some people it’s tortilla chips or ice cream. For others it’s fast food or pizza. This reaction bothers me for a number of reasons. Secondly, people use the “I could never…” statement as a reason to not try at all. Now I don’t mean to come down too hard on my workout buddy, because I completely understand the knee-jerk reaction.

Mark, I can sense you cringing from here, but wait! Sauce: 1. Low-Carb Lemon Cheesecake Recipe - Sugar-Free Low-Carb Lemon Cheesecake. The Beginner's Guide to the Paleo Diet. So you wanna learn about the Paleo Diet, eh? Here’s the ENTIRE diet in a nutshell: If a caveman didn’t eat it, neither should you. Now, obviously there’s more to it than that, and that’s what I’m going to cover in great detail with this article today. When you are following the Paleo Diet, you can eat anything we could hunt or gather way back in the day – things like meats, fish, nuts, leafy greens, regional veggies, and seeds.

Sorry, the pasta, cereal, and candy will have to go! Anything that didn’t exist in caveman times will not be existing on your plate or in your stomach. And instead of counting calories and perfectly partitioned portions (say THAT three times fast), you’ll be focusing on eating the right foods instead. And that makes me happy, because I hate counting calories. I don’t like keeping track of how much I’ve eaten or obsessing over how many grams of a particular nutrient I’ve had.

Call them what you want – latkes, vegetables pancakes, fried-deliciousness – they’re a holiday treat many of us crave this time of year.

Although latkes made with vegetables like carrot, turnip, daikon radish and zucchini will never be quite as crispy as potato latkes, they are darn good in their own right. Traditional latkes also use flour as a binding ingredient; unnecessary filler in our minds that doesn’t need to be replaced with anything. Ingredients: Instructions: In a bowl, mix grated vegetable with egg, salt and pepper. Tender Lemon-Parsley Brisket. There’s no shortage of braised brisket recipes out there, each claiming to be the tastiest way to coax a tough piece of meat into a tender, melt-in-your-mouth meal. Most of these recipes are very good, but they also tend to be very similar.

The meat cooks in some blend of wine/tomatoes/broth (and often, a sweet sauce of some sort from a jar) and then emerges hours later smothered in a thick, rich coating. This recipe for Lemon-Parsley Brisket gives brisket a makeover, changing the flavor entirely. Lemon is so often used with fish and poultry that it might seem like an odd choice for a big chunk of red meat. During the long cooking time, leeks literally melt into a silky sauce spiked with lemon juice and thickened by fat dripping off the roast.

Servings: 8-10 Ingredients: Instructions: Finely chop garlic cloves on a cutting board and sprinkle 1 teaspoon of the salt on top. Vigorously rub half of this mixture all over the brisket. Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Not Sure What to Eat? Primal Holiday Desserts. Welcome!
