Taitoperustaisen opetuksen suunnittelu. Iso osa opettajille suunnatuista koulutuksistani käsittelee sosiaalisen median pedagogista käyttöä. Koulutukset eivät keskity pelkästään välineiden opetteluun, vaan tavoitteena on suunnitella opetusta pedagogisesti korkeatasoisesti ja tulevaisuutta silmällä pitäen. Suomalaiset opettajat ovat toteuttaneet tässä kuvatun mallin pohjalta jo kymmeniä suunnitelmia.
Sosiaalisella medialla on iso rooli näissä suunnitelmissa, mutta lähtökohtana ovat tulevaisuuden osaaminen ja pedagoginen suunnittelu. Ideat perustuvat siihen, että Oppiminen on mielekkäintä, tehokkainta ja kauaskantoisinta sisäisesti motivoituneena, aktiivisena ja yhteisöllisesti toteutettuna. Tästä syystä tulee panostaa siihen, että niin oppimisympäristö kuin menetelmätkin tukevat motivoitumista. Englannin kielessä on maino sana, Engagement, joka kuvaa juuri sitä tilaa, johon oppilaat tulisi saada.

I’ve been encouraged to use stories and stimulus materials to pique the student’s curiosity and to use the stories behind the pictures to challenge their thinking and actions. As the Olympic games were bearing down on us, we were doing a unit in our elective sports science class about “Issues in Sport”.

Goyal is a senior at Syosset High School, a public school in New York. While most high school students focus on athletics, academics, and socializing, Goyal aims to transform the American education system. Goyal’s book, One Size Does Not Fit All: A Student’s Assessment of School ,describes the flaws within America’s education system and provides solutions to fix the present challenges. He explains the importance of finding progressive leaders to transform our nation’s education system. “Everybody is born with innate curiosities,” Goyal said.
“It’s a school’s job to cultivate them and not to kill them. But as the founder of the non-profit organization J.U.M.P. (Juveniles Use Media Power) to Change the World, designed to positively impact communities through technology and 21st century skills, she also knows just how important that work is. “My focus has always been on using technology as the great equalizer,” Worley says, “giving young people everywhere the same opportunities for learning, expression and creation.” Through her organization, Worley led a group of students from Hawaii to Kenya for a one-month media workshop.
