An Isolated Tribe Emerges from the Rain Forest. Before Nicolás (Shaco) Flores was killed, deep in the Peruvian rain forest, he had spent decades reaching out to the mysterious people called the Mashco Piro.
Flores lived in the Madre de Dios region—a vast jungle surrounded by an even vaster wilderness, frequented mostly by illegal loggers, miners, narco-traffickers, and a few adventurers. For more than a hundred years, the Mashco had lived in almost complete isolation; there were rare sightings, but they were often indistinguishable from backwoods folklore. Flores, a farmer and a river guide, was a self-appointed conduit between the Mashco and the region’s other indigenous people, who lived mostly in riverside villages.
He provided them with food and machetes, and tried to lure them out of the forest. But in 2011, for unclear reasons, the relationship broke down; one afternoon, when the Mashco appeared on the riverbank and beckoned to Shaco, he ignored them. We came ashore cautiously, pulling the boat. “What does it mean?”

The cultural premium now placed on recording and broadcasting one’s life and accomplishments means that Facebook timelines are suffused with postings about meals, workouts, the weather, recent purchases, funny advertisements, the milestones of people three degrees removed from you.

You can use these same wrappers to make potstickers, wontons and what not.. steam them.. fry them, or boil them in soups. Just about to be steamed The shu mai turned out super yummy.. I served them up, topped with thin tiny beet slices and with some thick hoisin sauce!. Of course I could have made the wrappers even thinner.. but hey.. all that rolling is tiring.. And below is another wrapper recipe with some added rice flour and also with Step by step pictures on how to shape them into ShuMai . Wrappers: Ingredients: 1 cup all purpose flour1/4 teaspoon salt or to tastewarm watercornstarch as needed1 teaspoon oil Directions: Mix in the flour, half a teaspoon of cornstarch and saltGrease your hand with oil.

Nguzunguzu's Heart Rate. Nguzunguzu (pronunciation: en-goo-zoo, twice) live in Los Angeles, but the club mixes, albums, and remixes they create and produce drip with the sounds of the globetrotter.
On record, they chop up Latin and African beats with juicy keyboard sounds and small pieces of '90s R&B vocals to make sublime songs that triumph in instant, chunky gratification. Warm Pulse, their latest release on the label Hippos in Tanks, starts off with a cold shaker sound on the title and opening track, but when the beat comes in, it opens a flood of bass and choral sounds that are both tactile and computer-smooth. When they DJ at parties, the duo of Asma Maroof and Daniel Pineda use CDJs or flash drives instead of the stereotypical MacBook Pro. They work more remixes into the live experience, fluidly bringing Mariah Carey, Gang Gang Dance, and Rio De Janeiro hyper-beats into the fold. ARI SPOOL: Tell us the story of how you met. I wear it everyday and it still looks like a fresh lippy I have puchased a variety of shades and i can say they are just as good as mac. They last all day without having to touch up and i always get asked at occassions which brand lipstick im wearing :-) Be sure to moisture lips during night and the lipsticks will glide on effortlessly during day. With all lipsticks i tend to use a lipliner first just to give it that pricise finish. I bought this lipstick in 'Magnetism' and it's a gorgeous colour and a great quality product. You hear alot of reviews about Illamasqua lipsticks being dry and tough to work with. This is my first ever Illamasqua item i purchased, and i did so on a whim as i passed the store in Leeds and got invited in by the super friendly staff. I love this lipstick. Absolutely delighted with this lipstick! Not my favourite texture from Illamasqua unfortunately.
