"If there were a special camera or glasses we put on to see people and things not just by their physical attributes but also see their experiences, their troubles, their sicknesses, their connectedness or lack of to everything else around them I think it would look very similar to one of my paintings. I don’t draw what a person looks like I draw a map of those experiences, feelings and energy and the relationship between their physical, emotional and energetic environments.” -Cristine Cambrea As a Visionary artist, I use my inner emotion and intuition to guide me. I do not work in the traditional process that incorporates sketching and planning. After that first line, shape, or color makes it way to the canvas I get lost in non-thought.

I came across this Sex & The City quote online tonight: “Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself . And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that’s just fabulous.” I love this quote because rarely do we focus on the relationship we have with ourselves — just the idea of it is just not talked about as much as it should be.Gisele Haselbarth :: art gallery
"My paintings are much closer to music than to words! My art, at its best is a continuous process of self-discovery. Exploring new facets and possibilities are the result of my personal aesthetic of looking, questioning, and deliberation.Inspired by Alex Shalman and his article The Socratic Method To Great Living (5 Simple Steps) I’ve written down what I consider to be the essence of me. Here they are: Mine are not about the perfect me but what I need to remember on a day to day basis. There is amazing power in making a list like this, as it helps defining yourself and your world. It makes me think I’m this amazing gal that can do anything.

16.9K views Apr 09, 2009 What is art? Sometimes, art just needs to go one step further than what we are doing in daily life. You will know what I mean when you finish reading this post. Might also think, yeah, I did that ton of times before. But why I am not the one who makes that into ART.The Art Center’s spring exhibition, Mixed Paint, featured 12 contemporary artists from New York State including Mary Begley, Buffalo, Stephen Carlson, Syracuse, Rachel Harms, Skaneateles, Melissa Johnson, Marcellus, Nick Lamia, Brooklyn, David Mann, New York City, Christopher McEvoy, Brooklyn, Iona Park, Saratoga Springs, NY, David Schirm, Buffalo, Robert Sherrill, Cortland, Ludwig Stein, Syracuse, Kathleen Thum, Saratoga Springs.
