People. Historical figures grace Northampton cycle route - Local. A striking portrait bench detailing three famous characters in Northampton’s history has been installed in Becket’s Park. The bench features the figures of W J Bassett-Lowke, John Clare and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. It was installed at the start of last week alongside the Connect 2 cycle route, a three-mile track which connects Northampton town centre with Briar Hill, St James Mill Road, Sixfields and Upton.
