J'appelle cela le tourisme alternatif mais cela est plus communément appelé exploration urbaine ou urbex en anglais. Quelque soit le nom, le principe reste le même : pénétrer dans des lieux souvent abandonnés, cachés ou difficile d'accès sans effraction aucune.
Pourquoi ? Pour garder une trace de ce patrimoine avant qu'il ne disparaisse définitivement mais pas seulement. Le tourisme alternatif occupe aujourd'hui une grande place dans mon travail. Il me permet d'assouvir ma curiosité mais surtout de vivre et d'exprimer pleinement ma passion pour la photographie. Prendre son temps, capter l'ambiance d'un lieu le plus souvent dévasté par le temps ou par l'homme, chercher la trace de ceux qui y sont passés et trouver une certaine forme d'esthétisme dans l'abandon ; voilà ce qui m'anime.

Le projet Reprises est une création photographique à caractère documentaire et autobiographique. Il prend son élan dans le voyage de mes arrière-grands-parents depuis l’Italie, où ils sont nés, vers l’Argentine, pays de leur émigration. Mon idée était de suivre leurs traces, de reconstruire, à travers des images, des documents et des récits, leur itinéraire. Partis du nord de l’Italie, de la région du Piémont, ils seraient, dans un premier temps, descendus vers le sud, jusqu’au port de Gênes (Genova) pour ensuite monter à bord d’un navire nommé Matteo Bruzzo aux alentours de 1885. Cent-vingt-six ans après le leur, j’ai repris ce même parcours. Partir de Fontanetto d’Agogna (d’où sont originaires mes grands-parents), jusqu’à la ville de Gênes.
De là, traverser l’océan et arriver par le port de Buenos Aires en Argentine. Centré sur mon histoire personnelle, ce projet a néanmoins, je le crois, une dimension universelle. Alejandro Erbetta. Je pense que ce type d’images a un gros potentiel et pourrait devenir de plus en plus fréquent avec la dématérialisation des magazines. Viele Fotos habe ich 2007 bis 2009 mit der kleinen Catcam geschossen. So erstaunlich waren meine Bilder, dass ich weltweit in der Presse dafür beachtet wurde und sogar ganze Fernsehteams auf der Katzenstraße Berichte über mich drehten (MDR, ZDF, RTL, VOX, PRIMA TV aus der Tschechei). Mitlerweile habe ich Halsband und Kamera abgelegt, und geniese meinen wohlverdiensten Katzen-VorRUHEstand.
