http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2011/03/19/david-mazzucchelli%e2%80%99s-back-pages/ Every day this month I will share with you the first (at least as far as I know) U.S. professional work by a notable comic book creator. Here is an archive of the creators who have been featured so far. David Mazzucchelli is one of the most acclaimed comic book artists of the past 25 years. After first gaining attention as the regular artist on Daredevil with writer Denny O’Neil, Mazzucchelli drew even more attention during his association with Frank Miller on the classic Daredevil storyline, “Born Again.” Mazzucchelli left Daredevil to work on the even more famous “Batman Year One” storyline with Miller. Mazzucchelli then left superhero comics to work in independent comics (as well as illustration and design work), with perhaps his greatest work to date being his brilliant 2009 graphic novel, Asterios Polyp, which he had been working on for years.

Aquarelas - UKCPS - Exhibition 2005

http://www.ukcps.co.uk/exhibition2005/2005Exhibition.htm We are proud to present the online version of our 4th Annual International UKCPS Exhibition 2005, which took place at the Stable Gallery, Ronald Swanwick's Stable Art Centre, Kington, Herefordshire, August 6th - September 4th 2005. The jury of Bernard Poulin, CPSA, Graham Brace and Christopher Christoforou selected 53 paintings, which were warmly received by all who saw them. Prizewinners were selected by professional artists Ronald Swanwick and Chris Jarvis. You will find the UKCPS Picture of the Year at the top, the 7 other award winners below it, with the special commendations below those, and the rest of the chosen pieces towards the bottom of the page. The initials "UKCPS" after a member's name indicates that they are Signatory members of the Society, having had pictures exhibited in three exhibitions within a five year period.
Former NCS president Steve McGarry will be honored with the National Cartoonists Society’s Silver T-Square Award at the 66th Annual NCS Reuben Awards on May 26th, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Silver T-Square is awarded, by unanimous vote of the NCS Board of Directors, to persons who have demonstrated outstanding dedication or service to the Society or the profession. From former NCS president Jeff Keane : I was asked …well, asked isn’t the right term… was begged to write a few words about Steve McGarry receiving the Silver T-Square Award. Frankly, what can I tell you about Steve that you haven’t heard already… mostly, from Steve himself… Actually, I am truly honored to write this because I saw first hand what an extraordinary member of the NCS he has been.

El Cuco is a ghost-like bogeyman type figure from the folklore of Spain, Portugal, as well as various Latin American countries. He is depicted in multiple different, usually horrifying ways, the most common being a huge troll-like man, covered in hair, with a Jack O'Lantern as a head and carrying a huge sack in which to abduct children. http://freakmutantmonster.blogspot.com/

I did this large and mini Adfunture YOKA figure set design back in 2008, I think it’s safe to say it’s not going to get made so I thought I would at least show it here! Enjoy what could have been! http://www.creaturesinmyhead.com/
