A raw space in a vast converted factory building with an open-ended mission: to create a new kind of interdisciplinary arts center. Neither a commercial gallery nor a concept-driven non-profit, The Invisible Dog has a unique role in the New York arts scene. Over the last 4 years, over 100,000 people have attended their events.
The Invisible Dog is also a studio base for artists like Oliver Jeffers, Mac Premo, Prune Nourry and many more. In 2008 the former theater and opera director was spending a few months in New York when he “met” the building and “immediately fell in love.” Starting its fifth season, maintaining this unique initiative is financially hard sometimes.
