How to Create a Screencast Like A Pro with These 6 Free Online T

However, if you want simpler applications that can do the same thing without the heavy toll on your computer’s memory or your wallet, try these easy-to-use web-based solutions. Since all of the following offer the recordings for download, you can edit the screencasts to your liking in your preferred video editor, or start over with ease. None of these require sign-up to record but for some services, an account is required to upload the material. If you’re a serial screencaster (like the infinite number of techy users on YouTube), having an account would also enable you to retrieve your previous screen recordings. Also, you’ll need to have Java running and click on Accept when prompted to allow the recording applet from each of the following sites to start screencasting. Now onto the tips on how to create a screencast using these applications!
This is a good example of how you can create tutorials in Wink, by capturing screenshots, mouse movements and specifying your own explanations with them. And all this in a standard Windows-based UI with drag-and-drop editing makes it very easy to create high quality tutorials/documentation. It is estimated that Macromedia Flash Player is installed in more than 90% of the PCs. http://www.debugmode.com/wink/

Downloads: Screen2Exe Saves Screencasts to Executable Files

Windows only: Screen capture utility Screen2exe records video of your desktop and outputs an executable file that runs anywhere, free of codec requirements—useful for carrying on a flash drive. If this idea sounds familiar, you're probably remembering previously mentioned MakeInstantPlayer , an app that converts any video file to an EXE—it doesn't actually help you make any screencasts, though. Creating videos is a simple, wizard-driven process that walks you through a number of steps: First, you draw a rectangle around the section on the desktop that you want to focus on; next you record your video; finally, you hit the F10 key to stop the recording. Sounds simple enough, right? http://lifehacker.com/5147040/screen2exe-saves-screencasts-to-executable-files

That’s Infotainment! - 2/1/2009 - School Library Journal

Iluustration by Jim Paillot The first thing I want to do at the beginning of each new semester is dive into the course material and get my students as excited as I am about what we’ll be studying over the coming months. The last thing I want to do is spend precious time showing them the interactive features of our course Web site. My students tend to have varying degrees of proficiency with the Web, and while some would find such a primer remedial and frustrating, others would find the information too much to absorb in one sitting. Instead, I point them to a series of screencasts, which involve video taken of a computer screen to demonstrate how to accomplish specific tasks on the class site such as embedding video, uploading photos, subscribing to RSS feeds, and posting to a blog.
This is the first of my three videos comparing apps available on the iPad for citation and full text management. I compare 4 products available now: Mendeley, Sente, Papers, and Bookends. Whichever app you choose, it is likely that you will need both the iPad app and the desktop version (for functions not possible on the iPad), so in these videos, I not only compare the iPad apps, but also the desktop versions. In this video, I compare these 4 apps in terms of their pricing, the OS platforms they run on, the publication styles they support, and the word processing applications they work with. http://cwml-tutorials.blogspot.com/
