Anjas Food 4 Thought. Creme Brulee Cheesecake Bars | Yep, another Betty Crocker recipe!! I have to be honest – I’m not a cookie mix kind of person. They are just not something I normally keep on hand. Maybe it’s because I never thought to do anything other than just make regular cookies from those mixes, because after my trip to the Betty Crocker kitchens, I’ve realized that cookie mixes are good for more than just cookies!! These were my favorite thing that I tried.

True – I am a cheesecake lover. And I love creme brulee. Luckily, my family got together the night after I made these, and I took some to them – otherwise, I honestly think I could eat a whole pan of these myself!! The only thing I would do differently next time is to add the toffee bits when there is a minute or two left on the baking time so that the toffee melts down just a little bit. Creme Brulee Cheesecake Bars from Betty Crocker makes 36 bars Heat oven to 350F. In small bowl, beat cream cheese, sour cream and sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. He was staring at me as if I had eighteen heads, each with 20 piercings and Mike Tyson-esque tattoos. "Making Campfire Bananas," I said.

In my head, his question was quite possibly the dumbest one I had ever heard him ask. "What are those? " he asked. ::blink::blink::blink:: ::blinkblinkblinkblinkblink:: "Are you serious? " "Yeah, what are they? " "You are a victim of child abuse," I told him in a bewildered tone. I turned to Twitter to report this crime against humanity. My memories of Campfire Bananas are wrapped in Girl Scout camp and fires by the lake and all sorts of . . . . hell, who really cares? Anyway, let me share with you how joy can be packaged in a banana peel. Campfire Bananas You'll need some bananas, chocolate chips, marshmallows, and I am a fan of throwing some peanut butter into the mix as well.

Stuff that strip full of good stuff. Put the peel back in place. Wrap it in foil. Once it's done, unwrap it, pull the peel all the way off, and eat. Love That Quinoa Burger! &. November 1, 2010 by Linda So yummy! If you want a change of pace that’s meat-free, yet full of protein, fiber, and very filling…this might be for you. I like it with Tzatziki on top (my recipe is in this post), or a little “fry sauce” (what some drive-ins call that wonderful mayo/ketchup combo), and with a thick slice of tomato, avocado, onion and lettuce, as a burger should be, it’s fab. Don’t be afraid of Quinoa. It cooks just like rice – might even be a little easier! – and can be subbed almost straight across in most recipes. I made Rice Burgers for my kids for years and this is the same recipe, with Quinoa instead. UPDATE!! 2 rounded cups cooked quinoa (see note below for cooking instructions) 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or other variety, if you prefer) 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese 1 medium carrot, finely grated (OR 1 cup shredded zucchini, squeezed dry) 3 eggs 3 tablespoons all purpose flour 2 green onions, including white parts 1 /2 teaspoon sugar 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Like this:

Baked chicken-less taquito — the tolerant vegan. As you know, I am not a huge fan of the faux cheeses. They usually gross me out. I’ve tried several vegan cheese pizzas, cheese dogs, cheese sauces, etc that people claimed were THE BEST EVER, only to find myself disappointed and sometimes disgusted. So I gave up. I decided that dairy-free cheese just isn’t my thing and I moved on without it. Fast forward to last week when I saw this recipe. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I gave in. You should probably add it to your menu, too. Baked Chicken-less Taquitos Adapted from Pink ParsleyMakes 12 taquitosPrintable recipe Ingredients: Preheat your oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit.

For the fake chicken part of this recipe, I bought Chicken-less Strips from Trader Joe’s and chopped them into smaller pieces. An interested kitty means it’s pretty realistic “meat.” Combine your garlic, chopped cilantro, scallions, yellow onion, red bell pepper, dairy-free cheeses and chicken-less chicken into a large bowl. Mini Fruit Pies | Simple Organized Living. I love pie. I love eating pie, I love making pie, I love nearly all vartities of pie! The only problem with pie is that the crust always seems to get soggy before we can eat it all — there are just 2 of us you know. So today — as I was contemplating whether or not I should make a pie (and knowing that my husband would definitly want me to make a pie) — I decided to try something new… … mini pies! I figured that if I made mini pies, I could make as many as we needed and I could customize the filling so everyone got their favorite pie.

Not sure why I didn’t think of this sooner? Anyway, mini pies are extremely easy and take less than 20 minutes to bake (half that of most full pies) Ingredients: Pie Crust Dough — I used store bought refrigerated crust but feel free to use homemadeFilling — choose your favorite pie fillings and make mini batches of each one (or use canned filling) Directions: Use a biscuit cutter to create mini pie crusts — cut as many or as few as you want What is your favorite pie? Don’t you hate it when you get all your ice cream cones filled with batter only to have them tip over and spill in the pan when you try to put them in the oven? I decided to make a pan prototype to bake my cones in to stop the spills and mess! Yup, I made a prototype.

And I was going to mass-produce it and sell it on HSN and become a billionaire, er, or at least a thousand-aire. But my dreams were crushed when I realized someone else already designed one. And it was better than mine. And they already mass-produce them. So much for my big break. BUT considering I wasted so much time making my pan, I’m going to show you it anyway. I bought this cheap tin pan from the 99 cent store. I took a sharpie and measured out a 3 x 4 square grid. Once my circles were cut out I just flipped it over and put it on a cookie sheet. Brilliant, right? And just for fun I took a picture of what it looks like from the underside. So there you have it. And now for a 2nd tutorial on how to make Cupcake cones. Vegan recipes and vegetarian recipes - living and raw - uncooked! No Knead Bread: so easy a 4-yr old can make it!

Monday, September 10, 2007 No Knead Bread: so easy a 4-yr old can make it! It’s been almost a year since NY Times unveiled the secret to the revolutionary No-Knead Bread. And while fads come and go, this certainly is a recipe that has transcended the fickleness of foodies. It’s time to revisit the bread…. as many of us have been brainwashed by this summer’s ice cream! We’ve made close to 60 loaves since last November and I’ve got to tell you, it is still one of our family’s favorite things to eat. I firmly believe that every person should bake a loaf of bread at least once in their lifetime. No Knead Bread recipe so insanely brilliant – no sticky fingers, no doughy mess, no intricate measuring, no complicated kneading.

So, without further blabbering, I’ve pimped out my son to demonstrate that baking No Knead Bread is so simple a 4-year old can do it. Of course I had to bribe him with 2 temporary tattoos. So, let’s start. 3 cups of bread flour in a big bowl. 1/4 teaspoon of instant yeast: Vegetable&Paella - Home - Burgh Baby. In an attempt to disprove the rumor that I only cook things that cause people to gain fifteen pounds just by looking at them, I thought it might be a good time to post the recipe for vegetable paella. It's something that I learned to make while I lived in Spain in high school. Alexis loves it more than just about anything else I conjure up for dinner, so hopefully someday I'll be able to sit on the couch, snap my fingers, and have her cook it while I pick my nose or something. I should mention that I learned to make this from my Spanish host mother, Pepita. I've probably completely screwed up her recipe by now (I lost the book where she wrote her recipe down for me), but I know for a fact that the way she made it was this simple.

I don't really know why all of the recipes I've seen online are complicated. Side note: It probably pained Pepita greatly to not put seafood in this. Also, the notion that you need a special pan for paella? Vegetable Paella 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Homemade pop tarts. I never had a Pop-Tart until college. I realize that for some people this may cause a shocked reaction on par with my husband’s the time I told him I’ve never watched Goonies before (or Jacob’s, upon discovering the internet). Obviously I grew up under a rock, right? Thus, given my proximity to concrete-like materials you’d think I have been better prepared for the texture of the one I purchased from the vending machine in the basement of my freshman dorm (not at 4 a.m. or anything, either, nope, not this angel!).

But I was not. It was like particle board, but even particle board has a fresher aroma. It took two hands to break off a piece. I understand that if I had toasted it, my experience might have been better. I can’t believe I waited so long to make these. Most recipes I have come across use a pie dough for the pastry but I was really stuck on getting a crust that was a little more sturdy — one with an egg. One year ago: Black Bread 1 additional large egg (to brush on pastry) Colorful Spiral Cookies.

Just try to be in a bad mood around one of these. Impossible! I was naturally drawn to these because of the bright, eye-catching swirl, not to mention the jumbo sprinkles-encrusted edges! If anything, these should be the SB mascot, because they are everything I love. Bright, happy, buttery and delicious. Also versatile! I spied these first here, (green-tea version) and then here (peppermint version). I've looked at these countless times, and I'm not sure why I didn't make these earlier. Another thing I love about these is that they are SLICE and BAKE. I won't go much into preparation here, because that's all in the recipe, but here are some pictures to give you an idea of the process. I wanted to make my dough even on all sides, so I trimmed some away to make an even roll. I used Wilton's rose gel food coloring. You'll then encrust the dough with jumbo (or other) sprinkles. Speaking of ham... Some of you may wonder why there are so many pictures of my dog, Biscuit, included in my posts.
