A síndrome patelofemoral é multifatorial, provavelmente ocorre pela combinação de: • Microtraumas repetitivos, • Mau alinhamento da patela, • Uso excessivo da articulação do joelho, • Desalinhamento do mecanismo extensor do joelho associado a uma movimentação lateral excessiva da patela.
