Trump as Optimist, Salesman or Bully: Mixing Messages in His First Year. Has the U.S. Become a ‘Trumpocracy’? Week 61 – The Weekly List. Have We All Gone Bonkers? Have we all gone bonkers?

Have We All Gone Bonkers?

On Sunday evening, #Oprah2020 began trending on social media after Oprah Winfrey delivered a rousing speech against misogyny and racism at the Golden Globe Awards. While Oprah has in the past ruled out running for public office, her longtime partner Stedman Graham just told the Los Angeles Times that “she would absolutely do it,” and CNN is reporting that Oprah is “actively thinking” about running for president. Is #Oprah2020 really a serious thing? Donald Trump made 25 false claims in his latest New York Times interview. 3) “I saw (Democratic Sen.)

Dianne Feinstein the other day on television saying there is no collusion.” Trump appeared to be referring, as he has in the past, to a November CNN interview with Feinstein — in which she did not declare that there is no collusion. Feinstein was specifically asked if she had seen evidence that the Trump campaign was given Democratic emails hacked by Russia. “Not so far,” she responded. She was not asked about collusion more broadly, and her specific answer made clear that she was referring only to evidence she has personally seen to date, not issuing a sweeping final judgment. 4) “She’s (Feinstein) the head of the committee.” Feinstein, a Democrat, is not the head of any committee: Republicans control Congress and thus lead the committees. Weekly Lists – The Weekly List. Harvey Didn’t Come Out of the Blue. Now is exactly the time to talk about climate change, and all the other systemic injustices — from racial profiling to economic austerity — that turn disasters like Harvey into human catastrophes.

Harvey Didn’t Come Out of the Blue.

Turn on the coverage of the Hurricane Harvey and the Houston flooding and you’ll hear lots of talk about how unprecedented this kind of rainfall is. How no one saw it coming, so no one could adequately prepare. What you will hear very little about is why these kind of unprecedented, record-breaking weather events are happening with such regularity that “record-breaking” has become a meteorological cliche. In other words, you won’t hear much, if any, talk about climate change. The White House Wouldn’t Post Trump Staffers’ Financial Disclosures. So We Did. In a remarkable Friday night news dump, the Trump administration made dozens of White House staffers’ financial disclosure forms available.

The White House Wouldn’t Post Trump Staffers’ Financial Disclosures. So We Did.

But they did it with an extra dose of opacity. These are important disclosures from the people who have the president’s ear and shape national policy. They lay out all sorts of details, including information on ownership of stocks, real estate and companies, and make possible conflicts of interest public. But the White House required a separate request for each staffer’s disclosure. And they didn’t give the names of the staffers, leaving us to guess who had filed disclosures, a kind of Transparency Bingo.

Since the White House wasn’t going to post the documents publicly, we did. We teamed up with The New York Times and The Associated Press, requested docs for every staffer we know and put them in this public Google Drive folder. We’re continuing to look through them. Trump’s younger supporters know he’s an incompetent joke; in fact, that’s why they support him. 1.

4chan: The Skeleton Key to the Rise of Trump

Born from Something Awful Around 2005 or so a strange link started showing up in my old webcomic’s referral logs. This new site I didn’t understand. It was a bulletin board, but its system of navigation was opaque. The site, if you hadn’t guessed, was 4chan.org. 4chan had been created by a 15 year old Something Awful user named Christopher Poole (whose 4chan mod name was “m00t”). These days, 4chan appears in the news almost weekly. Le discours de Noam Chomsky le 30 novembre 2016 à Paris. L'espèce humaine est sur Terre depuis environ 200 000 ans.
