Celebration Of Vintage and Retro Design

That’s not true. Although compared to modern design, retro is mostly a completely different realm, it has a large variety of benefits modern graphic designers often tend to overlook. And that’s a pity. Because we, as designers, can learn a lot from it. Nostalgic designs arise feelings, awake memories and better manage to involve broad range of readers even although they don’t really realize it.

Below you’ll find the celebration of retro and vintage design — ads, illustrations, book covers, pins and posters from 1920-1980s. Please notice: if after reading this post you’ll experience some need for buying ice cream, chewing gum or eating sausages, it’s not our fault. Retro Cosmic Retro Cosmic1Designs by James White. Ad Mashup: Where advertisers come to play. Apple iPod advertising. Apple has used a variety of advertising campaigns to promote its iPod portable digital media player.

Apple iPod advertising

The campaigns include television commercials, print ads, posters in public places, and wrap advertising campaigns. These advertising techniques are unified by a distinctive, consistent style that differs from Apple's other ads. Original ad[edit] The very first advert for the first iPod (only compatible with Macs) featured a man in his room grooving to his digital music collection on his Apple iBook. He drags his music to his iPod, closes his laptop, and plugs in the ear phones. One of the problems, noted Apple ad agency creative director Ken Segall, was the use of what he termed a 'real person.' Silhouette Style[edit] Susan Alinsangan, a Chiat/Day art director, came up with the design of the iPod silhouette commercials[2] in 2003, along with the help of Chiat/Day's director Lee Clow, and James Vincent, a former DJ and musician.[3] Evolution of the Silhouette Style[edit] See also[edit]
