That's around 40 gigapixels, or 40,000 megapixels. If you printed this photo it would be 23 meters (or 78 feet) long! Rock Band vs. Guitar Hero, Round 2 You wanna rock. But between Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour, there's a bona fide battle of the bands going on as the holidays approach. Both games promise arena-filling rock-god dreams, and both are good--so let's take a look at what makes each game tick. (I evaluated the Xbox 360 versions of these games, but both are also available on the PlayStation 2, PS3, and Wii.) The latest Guitar Hero offers many new features, but you have a couple of big questions to answer before taking the stage: Do you invest $180 dollars to form a Rock Band, or do you spend 190 bucks to go on a World Tour?

Corrupted Blood incident The Corrupted Blood debuff being spread amongst characters in Ironforge, one of World of Warcraft′s in-game cities. The spell, intended to last only seconds and function only within the new area of Zul'Gurub, soon spread across the virtual world by way of a bug that allowed pets and minions to take the affliction out of its intended confines. By both accidental and purposeful intent, a pandemic ensued that quickly killed lower-level characters and annoyed higher-leveled ones, drastically changing normal gameplay, as players did what they could to avoid infection. Despite measures such as programmer-imposed quarantines, and the players' abandoning of densely populated cities (or even just not playing the game), the epidemic was finally controlled with a combination of patches and resets of the virtual world.

Carbon Fiber Primer It seems as though nearly everything “high performance” these days boasts some amount of carbon fiber in its construction. Originally used in aerospace, carbon fiber has moved into the mainstream and can be found in luxury automobiles, mountain bikes, and sports equipment. Some laptops and cellphones even use printed decals to simulate this lightweight material’s cutting-edge look. The good news is that you don’t need a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to work with carbon fiber composites. In fact, you can do it at home. This article discusses some of the basics of carbon fiber construction and explains how to create a carbon fiber iPod case.

Controller prototype stretches thumbs for extra feedback — www.joystiq.com by Richard Mitchell on Mar 6th 2012 11:00PM Video game feedback systems haven't changed dramatically since the implementation of "rumble" over a decade ago. Engineers at the University of Utah hope to change that with a new kind of controller. The prototype controller provides haptic feedback via small pads that sit under the player's thumbs. These pads can move in any direction, stretching the skin of the thumb, offering directional cues or simulating in-game events.

Yerba Mate is a Natural Energy Drink Coffee is equally natural (in principle), but this supposedly has other benefits over coffee. "It's like coffee that's stripped from all of the negative effects and only left with a positive. It's stimulates central nervous system without being addictive or give you anxieties." It's just a hype for using southamerican stuff.. açai, mate herbs, coconut water (not southamerican, I know) and counting.. and people are: Oh my god so healthy and yummi you can feel it. Such a tacky trend. 16-year-old Makes Working Scientific Calculator in Minecraft It's a working graphing calculator inside Minecraft. Doh. To be honest, some of us barely have enough time to build a pyramid or towering 8-bit video game character in Minecraft much less a gigantic, functional machine that can be used here in the real world. Yet it's amazing to see these massive projects show up in video demonstrations where players build virtual machines brick by brick, especially from those who can't even legally vote. Case in point: 16-year-old "MaxSGB" has created a working scientific/graphic calculator inside Minecraft.

Despite CHED order, why did Palace suspend college classes? - Nation In a rare instance, Malacañang took charge of suspending classes in the tertiary level in Metro Manila on Wednesday despite a Commission on Higher Education (CHED) policy that the agency-in-charge generally cannot order blanket class suspensions. Speaking to GMA News Online, presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said the suspension of Wednesday’s classes in universities and colleges in Metro Manila – announced through Lacierda’s Twitter account at 11:44 p.m. on Tuesday – was a special case. Earlier projections that Tropical Storm Juaning will directly hit Metro Manila were “strong enough to warrant a suspension," according to Lacierda. Other areas in southern and Central Luzon, while also threatened by Juaning, were not covered by the Palace's class suspension order. Juaning only reached Signal No. 2 on Tuesday.
