Temos poucos termos para nomear quaisquer dessas possibilidades, devido a um empobrecimento da linguagem em nossa cultura. E, talvez por isso, os sujeitos inventam novos termos ou combinem novas palavras para identificarem a si e aos demais. No que se refere a experiência de sexo entre homens, alguns termos tentam, ludicamente, nomear essas experiências. São eles: homem macho ou másculo, homem discreto, bicha cimento (não vou citar a marca, mas ela existe) e a bicha amoeba (um tipo de geleia que era usada como brinquedo para crianças anos atrás).
Esses termos são utilizados para nomear uma escala de masculinidade/feminilidade que vai da representação do homem heterossexual (macho) à identificação com a mulher (afeminado). Trata-se de um processo natural, e como tal necessário para que possamos perceber e tentar entender o mundo. Reduzimos sempre o que percebemos à nossa capacidade de entendimento, ou seja, à forma como é estruturada a nossa mente. O reducionismo é como o ego: indispensável mas questionável.
Diante de um determinado fenômeno, nós o percebemos e reduzimos o que foi percebido à nossa estrutura de compreensão — ao nosso conhecimento, portanto. Mas, como é óbvio, reduzir algo ao nosso conhecimento é o mesmo que reduzi-lo à nossa ignorância. O problema é que nem sempre é fácil voltar a ampliar depois da redução inicial.
