This is a very good introductory book on IA-32 Assembly programming on Linux (well, Ubuntu distro specifically but adaptable to other distros too). Uses NASM and a stack of tools that are likely available for all distros (but again definitely if you have an Ubuntu variant). If you're really ready to take your time and are shooting for a well-grounded point of departure than this book is for you. If you've already mastered things like IA-32 architecture, number theory, adding in hex, fundamentals of assembly, registers, eflags, etc., than this might move too slow for you. That being said, you may just find some interesting nuggets in this book.

DEVONthink is an extremely powerful and adaptable database program that has significant potential for qualitative researches across the humanities. It’s ability to store and connect discrete bits of information, from the quickly jotted idea to pdfs of articles, books, dissertations (many of which can now be downloaded directly from UMI), and the like, is in my experience unparalleled in either the Mac or Microsoft worlds. Your mileage may vary, but that has been my experience.

I just now had another look at Mendeley. Importing my project was no problem at all, thanks to BibTex. However, I don't see myself really using it. Can't find the quotes and comments I work with in Citavi and personally I think the Citavi approach is much more in line with results from research on the reading-writing process that highlight a strong interconnection between reading and writing. by Jan 30

Well, I had to use Endnote in a team once but I gladly switched to Citavi as soon as I could. More intuitive, indeed. And they provide excellent customer support. by Jan 26
Yes larcalla, but for that, I prefer Citavi. Had Zotero sooner had the reliable sync-feature it has now, I probably would have used it years ago. Now that the majority of my data lives in my Citavi-database, I can't really find the motivation to switch to another tool. I think that the motivation to make actual use of a tool is crucial. If you just use it sporadically, you'll not get the most out of it. by Jan 26
