An outdoor air quality station with Enviro+ and Luftdaten. Let's contribute to citizen science!
We're going to build an air quality monitoring station that can be mounted outside your house (or office, or wherever) that sends data to Luftdaten, an open data project that maps air quality using low-cost air quality monitoring devices. We built Enviro+ specifically for this purpose (as well as lots of other uses) as, traditionally, air quality monitoring devices have been out of reach for most people, costing tens of thousands of pounds. This project costs less than a hundred pounds, and can be built and deployed in just a couple of hours.
This tutorial will guide you through attaching Enviro+ and the particulate matter sensor to your Raspberry Pi Zero W, installing the necessary software, signing up to Luftdaten, and then fitting your Enviro+ in a weatherproof housing that can be attached to the outside of your building. Configuration utilisateur. Customise your Raspberry Pi magic mirror with modules — The MagPi magazine. Building a magic mirror is one of the easiest, and most rewarding Raspberry Pi projects.
Follow our Build a magic mirror tutorial to get your own mirror up-and-running. The rear view shows the mounted monitor and Raspberry Pi computer. Removing the monitor’s bezel gets the screen as close as possible to the surface Orientate your magic mirror Can a mirror be upside-down? /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart Now add this line to the end of the file: @xrandr --output HDMI-1 --rotate right Save the file (CTRL+X) and reboot. Safety first Sadly, MagicMirror2 doesn’t (yet) come with an easy configuration utility. Cd ~/MagicMirror/config cp config.js config.js.backup If anything goes wrong, just copy the config backup back and try again: cp config.js.backup config.js Each time you edit config.js, you’ll need to restart MagicMirror2 for changes to take effect.
Pm2 restart MagicMirror Meet the config file. PiAware - build your own ADS-B ground station for integration with FlightAware. You can now build and run your own ADS-B ground station that can be installed anywhere and receive real-time data directly from airplanes on your computer. Your ground station can run FlightAware's PiAware software to track flights within 100-300 miles (line of sight, range depending on antenna installation) and will automatically feed data to FlightAware. You can track flights directly off your PiAware device or via FlightAware.com.
Users sending ADS-B data to FlightAware will see live (non-delayed) data, have their own data highlighted on FlightAware track logs, see additional information on ADS-B from elsewhere, receive custom statistics and more information on ADS-B sites around the world. As a thank you for your contribution to our community, FlightAware offers a free Enterprise Account (USD89.95/mo value) to users who share their data.
Using the instructions below, the process should take about 2 hours hours and the parts cost about USD100/EUR80. Build a Raspberry Pi robot buggy. Need a project for the week?
We’ve got one for you. Learn to build a Raspberry Pi robot buggy and control it via voice, smart device or homemade controller with our free online resources. Build your robot buggy To build a basic Raspberry Pi-powered robot buggy, you’ll need to start with a Raspberry Pi. For our free tutorial, the team uses a Raspberry Pi 3B+, though you should be good with most models. You’ll also need some wheels, 12v DC motors, and a motor controller board, along with a few other peripherals such as jumper wires and batteries. Projects.raspberrypi. Raspberry Pi Projects. In 2016 we sent out nearly 1000 Oracle Raspberry Pi Weather Stations to schools from around the world who had applied to receive these kits.
The original Weather Station kit is a HAT for the Raspberry Pi that allows it to collect weather data using a variety of sensors. It is designed to be used in schools to enable students to create their own weather station, and has a range of resources to support its use. These kits have been very popular. If you’re one of the many people who has been wanting to get hold of one, this guide will take you through the process of building your own. This is an advanced project both in terms of electronics and programming.
