Crazy Domestic: Melted Snowman Cookies. I saw a picture of these the other day on Allrecipes.com and thought it was such a cute idea, I had to try it. After googleing it, I found a good tutorial on Stacy's Sweet Shop. I modified a few things to make it more simple for me (less homemade more store bought). To see the original Melted Snowman Cookie, and meet the inventor herself, go check out Meaghan (great name) @ The Decorated Cookie! Here's what I used: •1 package Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix•10 large marshmallows•Betty Crocker Cookie Icing (white and orange)•Wilton Decorating Icing Tubes in Black, Red, Green, Blue and Pink***it would have been a lot cheaper if I had just made the icing myself, see Stacy's tutorial for a good recipe)*** Here's what I did: •Mix cookie mix according to directions, or prepare your favorite cut out sugar cookie recipe, then just grab a golf ball sized chunk and squish it down until it's about 1/4-1/2 inch thick.

I like rabbits, chocolates and eggs so I guess that makes me like Easter too! In conjunction with Easter Friday, I’ve decided to pimp up my eggs. Dyeing eggs is actually a very familiar activity for the chinese community as it’s common to dye eggs in red for someone’s birthday.

Sometimes, the slightest change in the usual routine adds enough va-va-voom to turn an ordinary morning into extraordinary. That favorite sweet Bulgarian snack: Banitsa. Banitsa is a Bulgarian breakfast and dessert pastry which appears in both sweet and savory forms: one sweet type is particularly popular at Christmas.

(Other spellings of the pastry include Bonitza, Bonitsa, or Banica.) A homemade banitsa can look rather like a large souffle. There, though, the resemblance stops, since banitsas are built up using layers of buttered phyllo dough. The filling of the savory type can involve eggs, feta or other white cheese, and sometimes yogurt. The soft filling ingredients are layered alternately with the phyllo dough, and the whole business is then baked (although sometimes, in its fast-food form, it's fried: and you'll sometimes hear people in Bulgaria complaining about the presence of too much oil in the finished product). Savory forms of banitsa can include spinach, herbs, milk, or pumpkin. The recipes...
