In 1992, Montblanc established the Montblanc Cultural Foundation with the aim of identifying worthy art patronage projects all over the world. In these 20 years, the “Montblanc de la Culture Art Patronage Award” has recognized and celebrated the work of outstanding private patrons of the arts throughout the world - patrons who have dedicated time, energy, experience and financial resources to the furtherance of arts and culture. All the names of the jury and the winners should have been documented in this anniversary book.
Dominique Corbasson Illustratrice - Looking for DC
Paris & Moi, publié en 2000 par CWC Books au Japon, est sans doute le plus beau livre de Dominique Corbasson à ce jour, le plus caractéristique de l'esprit de son dessin de Paris, même si sa façon de dessiner les personnages, et aussi un peu les bâtiments, a évolué depuis 10 ans. Il s'organise par doubles pages, chacune consacrée à un site de Paris. On y trouve un dessin pleine page du site par Corbasson, un plan fait à la main du quartier, un descriptif de ce qui l'attire à cet endroit et de spots de ballades à pied, de shopping et de choses à voir.

Howard Pyle, the father of modern illustration and one of America's most important painters, died just over a century ago. To commemorate the anniversary of his death, the Delaware Art Museum mounted a splendid centennial exhibition reminding us of Pyle's contribution. (You can find information on the show here and here .)
ILLUSTRATION ART
Here's the earliest piece I have by Canadian illustrator, James Hill. This was done for MacLean's magazine, May 1952. Hill would have been in his early 20's at this time, and already getting assignments on a regular basis from Canada's leading magazines, his work being seen by the public from coast to coast.

Dominique Corbasson est née à Paris en 1958. Diplômée de l'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts appliqués et des métiers d'Arts, elle travaille dans le secteur de la mode comme styliste de tissus d'ameublement et de vêtements pour enfants, tout en continuant à entretenir sa passion pour le dessin.
