I haven’t been engaged in much of the debate around where the ‘massive open online course’s (MOOCs) and am going to try to not get too chippy here. Actually, I’ll get that out of the way in the pre-amble. No. MOOCs wont do everything.

Este espacio está reservado para que los miembros del Consejo Asesor del Horizon.Ib gestionen el proceso de investigación, discusión y selección de los temas que formarán parte del NMC Technology Outlook: Educación Superior en Iberoamérica 2012-2017 . El Proyecto Horizon.Ib es fruto de la colaboración entre The New Media Consortium y el eLearn Center de la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya . El informe, que se publicará en junio de 2012, se centrará en las tecnologías emergentes y sus aplicaciones a la docencia, el aprendizaje y la investigación creativa en Iberoamérica , lo que incluye a los paises de Latinomérica, España y Portugal.
Actualmente cuando se crea una tecnología tardamos un tiempo, en general excesivo, sobre el uso de la misma en nuestras metodologías didácticas. Señalamos que alumno, tutor y medio son los los pivotes "humanos", mientras que el apartado tecnológico es el eje sin participación directa, es un elemento intermedio entre todos los anteriores. El hecho de que el uso de la tecnología no sea inmediato nos plantea la necesidad de estar atentos a lo que sucede, puesto que nuestros alumnos están muy a menudo mucho más cercanos a las innovaciones que sus profesores y son muchoa más receptivos.
